CtC 368: Prop Forward

(Released early and ad-free for Patrons during the early access period)

Although lots of technical data about narrowboat propellers exists already, it largely relates to the traditional diesel engine. With electrically-propelled canal boats now becoming more commonplace, boat-builder Ortomarine held a practical trials day to see if changing prop made for a better or worse experience when your narrowboat has an electric motor.

I did! I found London 10X packed with humans scurrying about like they were in need of a toilet! Oh, dodging bicycles in London is an Olympic effort. I do believe British are far less overweight than Americans. I do love the UK. The Train at Waterloo to Bournemouth expensive, but very comfortable, and would much rather live in the UK than the US, safer by far. By the way, why are there Starbucks on almost every block? Maybe that explains the hectic pace of foot and vehicle traffic.

Bournemouth beach is no doubt glorious in the sunshine .. but also rammed with people, I imagine. Make sure you have fish n chips by the sea, with a '99 Flake' ice cream to follow!!

Very interesting. I may have missed comments on RPM and current draw. I am a bit sleepy from wandering aimlessly in Bournemouth with the masses. Luckily, I have so far survived dodging cars, bicycles, scooters, and of course buses. I think the calmness in the canals is the answer to relieve congestion stress disorder.
