Added 2023-09-05 16:00:02 +0000 UTCokay regarding the intro. i cannot believe you can't hear the ac behind me. because when there's no other noise but it's turned on i can see that the mic is picking up the sound. but then you just can't hear it on the recording. why have i been boiling myself this whole time??

I have *some* fond memories of the BSG series. Maybe it's just me, but the character studies were great while the situations got steadily more horrific. Eventually I stopped caring (sheer bloody-mindedness at having bought the dvd boxset carried me to the end, but I honestly wish I hadn't bothered).

2023-09-12 16:24:53 +0000 UTCOne thing I always wish they had shown or explained more clearly earlier in this episode is that needing to "jump" every 33 minutes means nobody can really sleep. Eventually they do print out how many hours without sleep, and separately how many jumps they've made. But we are left to make the connection that the 33 minute jumps are what prevent the sleep. I think we get it in the end, but it could have been more clearly pointed out. Otherwise, this is one of the best episodes of the series, and certainly a great start to the regular series proper.
