Fun fact; Shounen JUMP publishing company considers body details like nipples (for both men and women) to be "inappropriate pornography, " which is why you often don't see them drawn on characters, or censored so they're (just barely) covered. Although Gintama manages to do something about it later down the line. π

2022-02-07 11:07:12 +0000 UTCEpisode 39 (as well as 28) are great early episodes that serve as an example of what a well-written cast in a story can do. Even when the main cast/protagonist of the series is not the key focus of the episode, they're able to both stand on their own and leave an impression that genuinely makes you want to get to know them and like them more. (And also further highlights their moments to shine in even bigger arcs.) Especially in the case of Zura, who went through quite a character growth here, as he questions the morale impact of his Rebel Patriots' aggressive actions. Even though Gin tried to convince him that his methods were far too rash earlier, it isn't until he hears from an innocent bystander's perspective like Ikumatsu that he realizes his stubborn adherence to a Samurai's code may not be the best way of going about changing the system. Especially when it causes casualties to the very people he's trying to liberate in the first place.
