FOR ALL TO SEE
Like everyone out there, quarantine was a difficult time for me. I’m a social person and isolating myself away from the rest of the world was quite difficult to put up with. Thankfully, I had a few trusted friends I could meet up with, one of whom was my dear friend and muse Erika.
On this particular day she came over, we had no ideas, no inspiration. Thankfully, my cousin had just gifted me a new “sunset lamp” that was being advertised on Instagram. With only that in mind, I had Erika choose a variety of black clothing she had brought, a dark tone I never encourage models to wear, and found that they worked perfectly with the tone of that lamp.
What resulted was a moody, melancholy series that seems more theatrical, more narrative-based than others we have shot together. It felt cinematic, nuanced, intimate. Personally, I really love this series because it captures a moment and mood that she and I were particularly going through.
