THIS IS ONLY A TEST
Working with new models is always a fun challenge. Unlike most photographers who just show up and begin clicking away, I prefer to spent time talking first, getting to know the individual I’m working with. It’s important to discover their likes, dislikes, preferred angles and issues so as to create images they’ll be proud to take par tin and share. Some photographers I know pose their models like mannequins, but I prefer letting models be themselves. I enjoy capturing their natural mannerisms, studying how they move normally rather than telling them what to do.
I believe this, among all else, sets my photos apart. I never try to make someone into anyone they aren’t, I want to see them and show them for who they are at their core. The greatest compliment I get from a model, which has thankfully happened numerous times throughout the years, is “I look like myself in these photos.” So often models are retouched, photoshopped, and made to wear too much make-up or style their hair different from how they normally would. I often try to have models bring their own clothes or pick outfits from my collections that work best with their interests and personal styles.
All of this thought and preparation make the images stand out more than usual, in my humble opinion. And thus it was with Andrea Isabella, a young Latina who I’ve shot with twice enow over the last five years, though never published any of our images until now. We lost touch after our first test shoot due to her health issues and moving away, but recently, due to quarantine, we reconnected and were able to shoot again. I hope you enjoy this special, beautiful series of our first collaboration in years!
Please stay warm and safe and doing this holiday season. And please keep in touch!

Lastly, let me reiterate once again how thankful I am for your continued support! Your monthly sponsorship makes what I create possible, it would not exist without you all! I can never express my true gratitude for all your kindnesses and messages. Please stay safe, where your masks, and stay home as much as possible. And please keep in touch and let me know what you think of these images!
