TRUST IN YOU

It’s a tough time to trust in each other, in our government, even in ourselves. But no matter how complicated life becomes, I always take solace in the trust I have in myself. Maybe I’m one of the lucky ones, but I don’t have many regrets in life. I try to speak my mind, defend my principles, be a loyal friends, a supportive family member, a patient partner. I work hard, pay my bills, challenge my government, and have a drink when necessary.

What I’m trying to say is: let’s all just take a deep breath. Things have been bad and complicated in this country, in this world, before. People have always suffered. This time it just happens to be America, where we’ve never really suffered much and we act like it’s the end of the world. It’s not. Things won’t be easy for a while, they may never get back to how they used to be, but that’s okay, also.

We all need to straighten up, work a bit harder, do our best rather than the bare minimum. And we can. Hopefully we will.

Speaking of trust, Erika here is someone I trust 100%. She’s loyal, sincere, full of hope and passion. She’s as true and dedicated of a friend as I’ve ever known, and I am thankful for her every day.

This was the very first online shoot I had ever done, long before all the others. It was during the first week of quarantine when so much of life seemed even simpler than it does now. But this may still be my favorite online shoot. The images are great, Erika was fantastic as usual, and it expanded my mind for what new creative paths I could take with new restrictions.

To end, please, please be careful, be safe, and be kind to each other this week. I think we all could use more than a little understanding for each other. Thank you and keep in touch!
