My next brain dribble has been released as 2 chapters on the ALL the Coins tier (as of 10PM PST as usual).  I'm still working on the summary, but here's what we got so far:

Title: The Wicked House of Caroline
Genre: Drama, Family, Fantasy, Adventure, Slow Burn (if this is applied to non-romance?)
Rating: Like PG-13, I guess?
Warnings: Probably Violence, Implied Adult Situations

Summary:

“If my sons are unable, you must ensure the stability of the kingdom.  No matter what personal cost, the kingdom must come first.  Swear to me.”

The dying words of powerful women shaped Lady Rebecca "Beks" of Caroline's life.

The Great Oracle referred to a daughter destined to bring the kingdom to prosperity with 'dawn in her hair'.  These dying words made Beks the foster daughter of the Queen and groomed to be a leader to support the Queen's sons.

And before she died, the Queen makes her swear to care for the kingdom, by any means necessary.

But before Beks has the chance, three of her foster brothers are lost and the Queen's surviving husband and 4th son, Beks' fiancé, bring forth a new oracle proclaiming that the one to bring the kingdom prosperity is the 4th Prince.  

To prevent the original destined child from interfering, they not only exile her, but her birth family she hadn’t seen in 20 years, separating them to the four winds.

All she wants is to reunite her family that was broken because of her, but she made an oath.

It is lucky for the kingdom that she plans to honor it.

It is unlucky for her ex-fiancé that she can also multitask.

When will the new story be released on Royal Road?
Middle of October, after my break.  Until then, all chapters will be posted here and staggered by tier, as per usual.

Will you write more for Tori?
Yes, because I already started on 'random daily slice of life' stories with Tori's children, wrote notes on Fifi's jungle adventures as a ornithologist, and everyone really wants to know how TF Ilyana managed to marry Kasen.  I love writing them doing random stuff and I'll likely post sporadically.

What can we expect from the new story?
Family and royal drama.  A bit heavier than Tori, and while Beks' POV will be the main one, there will be additional POVs.  

Is there romance in this one?  For the main character?
Sure.
  
Where is the epubs your promised us?
I'm trying to figure it out and do edits.  T_T  It's my fault.  I wrote like over a million words.  Why did I do that?

✍️ Random Writing/er Ramblings ✍️

I found while writing, it was quite a task to get my head out of using crystals as a magic source. I mean, I've used it for almost two years writing and got really into it.  I had worked on a different system for the new story, but I kept thinking "we should use a crystal for that".  Honestly, you can probably tell they're written by the same person. 🙄

Before I settled on this story, I had tossed the idea to two friends.  My writing buddy was like "there should be revenge" and after some consideration, I was like "yes, someone needs to die".  My non-writing buddy (you know that friend who is like your partner in crime - that one) read the entire general plot and was like "I can see this as a webcomic".   I'm unsure how to feel, but cool.

Oh, and I don't know if anyone is interested in an action fantasy webcomic, but I should plug "Arcane Ascencion".  My nephew did the writing for the comic.  🥰 (Let me be a shameless proud aunt; I want to support the younger generation.)

I'm also trying to create a more uniform break system for myself this time.  I learned a lot from writing Tori, from what things to keep track of and what is a good writing load for myself.  I am thinking of sticking to the Tuesday/Thursday schedules, as I find them so much less stressful.

The 10 page chapter works well and I'll likely go over most chapters, but that's still my goal - around 5k-6k words per chapter is do-able.  I absolutely understand burn out and writer's fatigue, but at the same time, I really just want to finish my stories, so this is my plan.
