FILM NOIR

This is the first of a new series taken of everyone’s favorite new blonde model, Lauren. Shot in a friend’s small farm house tucked away in the San Luis Obispo, CA hills, the place was a secluded paradise, a cool, breezy respite from the blistering Autumn sunshine two weeks ago.

I shot this much differently than normal, with some new tools I had ordered online. Lens adapters and filters are always fun, and I prefer shooting with those types of devices rather than editing things artificially in Photoshop. I’ll never understand the laziness of people who just rely on post-production to save a crappy image. Why not just take the time to make the image good in-camera? Isn’t that preferable? But I digress…

Lauren as usual was her bubbly, fun, easy-going self. No drama, no problems, just along for the ride, happy-go-lucky, an easy breeze. The only downside to the whole day was her still frustrating inability to drive, so I had to drive an hour out of my way to pick her up, bring her to the location, shoot, then take her back before turning around and coming back home.

Still, this special and exciting woman is well worth the little extra effort. As you can see, she’s everything you could ever want from a model and so much more. Please enjoy this brand new series, and please also let me know what you think in the comments below! Thanks again!
