Then, around age 7, Cherish's mother was involved in some dark deeds and was murdered in their home, forcing Cherish to live for a time in protective custody. After a few months, her gay uncle and his long time partner took her in, becoming the stable parents she had always longed for. Her "dads" had no idea how to raise a little girl, so they spoiled her rotten and never really taught her much about the world, so her teenage years and early twenties were a crash course in learnign to not be selfish, and I was there for many hard choices and lessons in her life, helping where I could, explaining when she wasn't seeing the big picture, and letting her make mistakes because she needed to learn those lessons.
