IMPORTANT! The reward tiers will change on February 1st!

As February 1 approaches, I want to shortly outline the changes to the reward tiers again that I outlined in my mail a couple of months ago (which will also inform those of you who have joined in the meantime):
First, the TLDR:
1. The Exclusive Tier will more or less be the same, but the voting poll will disappear. The content will focus on the three types of fan art I’m best known for: Ghibli, retro anime and European comics.
2. The Twice Is Nice Tier will also more or less stay the same, but will be a bit more experimental as to content, as I also want to introduce my own original characters to this tier besides fan art.
3. The Placeholder/Story Time tier will disappear. The PSD-files will now be offered with the respective pictures of the Exclusive and Twice Is Nice tier.
4. Instead of the Placeholder/Story Time Tier, there will be a People’s Choice Pin-Up Tier at the same price level. Each month the subscribers to this tier can suggest a character to draw a nude pin up of, and they can vote on it through “likes” on the post. The winner will then become next month’s pin-up.
5. These changes will normally go into effect on February 1 2026.

Now, as I pointed out a couple of times, some of these changes are a bit experimental, and if they stick around or not, or get refined further, will ultimately depend on your feedback and just the interest these tiers generate. If you have questions or feedback already, please let me know so I can take them on board before February. If you yourself have any suggestions about possible other rewards you might like to see, also let me know. There are still 3 months to go where everything will stay as it currently is, so that should also give you time to decide if you wish to continue to support me, and if so, in which tier. Well, as said, from Februari 1 2026 it will simply replace Story Time, so if you’re already subscribed to that tier, you will automatically switch to the new tier instead. Each month, at the announcement of the new People’s choice, subscribers to this tier can suggest one character of any kind (as long as it's within Fanbox and UniFan’s rules) that they want me to draw a nude pin-up of. All subscribers can then vote by posting a like next to that comment, and the suggestion with the most likes gets drawn the next month. Now, does this idea not contradict my previous remark about the lack of success of the poll? Possibly, it is a bit of an experiment. I’m hoping that people will be more interested in presenting choices of their own instead of being limited to the choices I present.

First is that it does limit me to making art of series I know sufficiently well that I can write a convincing narrative text about them. But secondly and most importantly: it’s a tier that, since me getting banned by Fantia, I can’t really promote properly anymore, so it has been stuck in a rut for the last year. I know some of you may be disappointed, but I feel like I’ve taken these as far as they can go. And I did want to write them myself, and not just let something like ChatGPT spit them out.

2026-01-14 16:29:05 +0000 UTC2. So why introduce OCs into the Twice Is Nice tier besides fan art. Well, I’m going off the only objective standard I have about the popularity of my work: the views and bookmarks on Pixiv. Consistently over the last couple of years my original comics and characters have been performing better there over the last couple of years than any type of fan art, with the exception of Ghibli. Perhaps it’s the themes that are popular, or perhaps the rise of AI is making people interested in something else than fan art that imitates the style of the original. I don’t know, but I feel like trying a couple of things out and seeing what people’s reactions are.

2026-01-14 16:28:33 +0000 UTCOk, so now let’s talk a bit about why I’m doing this: 1. Why Is the poll disappearing from the Exclusive Tier? Honestly, lack of interest on the part of the audience, it would seem. Only 15 to 20% of you are participating in these polls, so each time the winner represents the choice of only a very limited number of people. There may be different reasons for this, from the polls now being off-site where they used to be integrated on the site, to a diminished interest in this type of interactivity. And as many have pointed out, the winners quickly became predictable as well. So I’m just going to be honest with everybody and just make this tier about the type of content that’s most popular with most people anyway.
