Lots of big character moments and a good song, expected for a Rebecca Sugar episode. Bringing back Fern is pretty blatant nostalgia bait, but they did it in a way that doesn't harm the show or downplay his end in the original series, so it's nice. It feels like a fun callback rather than lazy. If it wasn't clear already, it should be pretty obvious by now that this season was created with the idea that they would get a season 3 soon. Seems like the final episode of the season will be a race to see if Huntress can get back to Ooo before Minnerva can put Finn into the robot hivemind. Fionna will start her redemption arc, but most of it will be saved for season 3. Perhaps season 3 will be Fionna redeeming herself while the Ooo gang tries to solve the issues resulting from Prismo's dwindling powers, the Cosmic Owl's retirement, and Scarab getting his body back? Maybe Cake's connection to the Karmic Worm, Huntress's new powers, and the Huntress seeds that got dropped in the other universes will allow them to start dimension-hopping again to look for solutions? Season 1 was entirely focused on dimension-hopping, season 2 was maybe TOO focused on the slice-of-life stuff, perhaps season 3 could be the happy medium?
