So fun fact about the anime: the anime adaptation's characters actually has different ages than the manga's. In the manga, most of the freshman characters are 18 to 19, but in the anime, they bumped it up to 20; I don't believe any staff mentioned why, but it's probably to do with TV laws in Japanese not allowing to show underage drinking (Japanese drinking age is 20).
