THE INTENSITY!!!! | THE BOYS SEASON 4 EP 4 REACTION

THE INTENSITY!!!! | THE BOYS SEASON 4 EP 4 REACTION

It's the way they brought in Colin, it does feel really sudden. Like, if Frenchie started seeing him and showed their initial connection start up E1, they slip into the passion pit E2, Frenchie reveals his guilt E3, and then this E4 came, it wouldn't feel as abrupt, especially for the Kimchee shippers. But instead they crammed it all into the two episodes instead. Like give us a flashback or sum'n to fill in the blanks, fma.

I can see that. It definitely just feels sudden and Im honestly not that attached to this arc Frenchie is going on with Colin and his family. But you’re right

In s3 we got introduced to Nina and she gave a glimpse that Frenchie used to do some messed up shit way beyond just his drug use. I think that is what season 4 is trying to do with his (and also kimiko's) character arc, and shine a full light on him.

I think episode 4 really tied together the theme of the first three episodes and what seems to be the season as a whole That theme being the past coming back to haunt you. From Hughie, A Train, Butcher, Homlander, Starlight, Frenchie, Kimiko, and so on.

Just wanna say that Frenchie's arc is spiraling but that's always been the arc. Frenchie is introduced as someone tortured by the fact he was raised into a pet monster, a hound, and that's all he ever feel he'll live up to. S1 Frenchie couldn't be trusted while he trauma bonded to Kimiko because he got Mallory's kids killed by leaving, but S2 Frenchie lets us know it was because he was saving his friends that he did it. S3 Frenchie is forced by Butcher to make contact with Lil Nina to get access to Soldier Boy, where she reminds him of her last mission before he was let go: Colin's family. And now S4, we see once again, Frenchie has fallen into a cycle of trauma bonding as penance. I won't pretend like Colin as a character doesn't feel very sudden, but Frenchie's arc is classic "I learned violence so I became violence" that he's always had and that is prevalent in The Boys.
