A few months ago I promised that you'd be able to run your BC Classic healing character through QE Live on day one of the expansion. It was a photo finish, but today both QE Live and QE dungeon tips go live with full BC support. For me this has been a really exciting combination of exploring old theorycrafting and writing new stuff for a game that is similar to Retail WoW in many ways, and completely different in others. It also made me miss tier sets a lot so if Blizzard could get on that for 9.2 I'd appreciate it.

The Simulationcraft addon doesn't exist in Classic, so I wrote a new addon to keep the same gear import functionality as on retail. You can grab it here: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/qe-live-gear-importer-bc
I'll be watching both BC and Retail versions closely over the next few days, and if we run into any bugs they'll be fixed fast. I'll also have guides to them out soon to help you learn how it all works.

Upgrade Finder
The QE Live Upgrade Finder is now live and will show you how big an upgrade every item in the game is for your character, all tailored to what you're currently wearing and the type of content that you do. Support for every raid, M+ and PVP level.
The Burning Crusade & Classic Retrospective
Burning Crusade was the expansion I started raiding in and I'm thrilled to announce that QE Live will have full support from the day the game goes live, complete with Top Gear, Upgrade Finder, Tier Set Analysis, and Quick Compare. I honestly can't wait to relive Karazhan, Tempest Keep and Black Temple after more than a decade (and I guess SSC is ok too). Modern day tools have the ability to open the game up in a way that wasn't commonly available back then and I'm really excited to see what we can do with it. I'll also stress that this won't take any time away from Shadowlands since I'll be building in support between patches and development is already underway.
I briefly had Classic support in the BFA version of QE Live, but the old engine wasn't a good fit and even after many hours of development it still wasn't at a high enough standard for a wide release. The new Shadowlands version of QE Live was built with Classic in mind. This time it will have the same feature set as retail. It's going to be done right, and it's going to be ready early.

Shadowlands is live, and with it, some big Questionably Epic updates.
QE Live Revamped
The QE Live BFA engine held up incredibly well through BFA, with Azerite, Essences, and Corruption all seeing implementations. By the end it did feel like it was starting to reach it's limit, in speed and in possible future functionality. I'm happy to announce an entirely new engine for Shadowlands. Your comparisons will be much faster, Top Gear will have a higher item limit, Covenants have full support and the possibilities for the future are endless.

I can't believe how close we are to 8.3! The new patch brings a replacement for Titanforging in "Corruptforging". I've put together an in-depth look at each of the effects so that you're ready for patch day. They've done a reasonably good job of balancing these and outside of a few outliers you're likely to wear whatever Corruption drops for you in the first few weeks.

Happy New Year! I can't thank you all enough for sticking with me and the site the past 12 months. What started as a way for Resto Druids to compare two azerite pieces has grown into a multi-spec, multi-function gearing tool and it wasn't possible without you. We're going to continue into 2020 with new, deeper, easier ways to look at your characters in Classic, BFA and soon Shadowlands. Now, on with the new stuff.
New Article: Essences IV
Patch 8.3 adds three new healer Essences in the form of Unwavering Ward, Spirit of Preservation and Formless Void. Have a read through what they each do and where they might be strong. I've included some recommendations at the bottom. There's a standard PTR warning on this one and it could all change before the patch goes live.

Residuum Roller 2.0
The current Roller is a good way to work out what slot to roll, but it could include a lot more information. With my three equipped pieces I might want to roll shoulders to get a Lights Decree or chest to get an Autumn Leaves. The problem is that it doesn't take into account that you might already have one of those in your bags that you could swap in. The new iteration of the Roller will form the best possible combination for each potential piece from all of your gear, and it'll tell you what setup you'll be running with each. Pictures below:

QE Live Classic
Classic slid up the to-do list a little bit when I realized the existing tools were poor and often used stat weights with no backing. A note on one read "The source of these has been lost to time". I think we can do better. Druid / Paladin go live this week and the other two specs will follow sometime in late February / early March. There's also room to include non-healer specs in the future.
This is definitely an Alpha build and there are still little bits and pieces missing (notably including random "of the Bear / Falcon / X" world drops). If you can't find an item or one is on the wrong bosses loot table then flick me a message here or on discord. The app supports characters from about level 40 up and will be iterated on until perfect.
QE Live Classic: In Game Addon
The Simcraft addon isn't available in Classic, so I've written my own. You can use this to import all of your gear at once. It's available now on Curse.

Azerite and Trinkets are both in for Diamond patrons and above. I'll be flicking the public switch to 8.3 six days before the patch so that you have some time to prepare loot lists. This will include the new Upgrade Finder and the patch's Azerite trait and Essence changes.

Ny'alotha drops a huge number of healing trinkets and I've written an in-depth breakdown on how they currently sit. Sadly no fantastic DPS options at this point for all of the battle-healers out there. They usually do a tuning pass toward release but they've done a reasonable job at the outset this time so we might not see the same large swings. They're also in QE Live now for all patrons so that you can start comparing them with what you already have. Let me know what you think!

WoW Classic
Development on QE/L for WoW Classic is going well and Druid will be the first spec included (as is tradition). The math is much quicker to work through this time around and once the first spec is in the rest will follow very quickly. There will be different optimizations for the different common builds where it makes sense. Warcraftlogs entry is in too. I think we can make Classic gearing very easy, no matter how far along you are in collecting your best in slot or pre-BiS set.
I'm hoping to have every spec in by ZG's release at the very latest but hopefully by Blackwing Lair depending on its release date. Preparing for 8.3 is the first priority, then Classic is right under it. Thank you for your patience.

What an exciting month. 8.2 finally gave us some solid content to do outside of raid and now Classic has drawn more players back to the game than I ever believed possible.
QE Live for WoW Classic
Speaking of Classic, would a tool like QE Live be useful to you as you start to approach max level on your Druid, Paladin, Priest or Shaman? Please get in touch if this is something you'd like (or respond to this post). It would likely include all gear above level 45 or so, to allow you to optimize your gear for pre and post-60 dungeons and raids.
Discord now open to all Patrons
As promised earlier in the year, the QE discord is now open to all patrons. You can join by clicking the discord link under your subscribed tier. Those in the Rolls Royce tier maintain access to their special channels.
QE Live Roadmap
The last seven months has seen QE Live evolve in ways I could never have dreamed when the project began. Now that the core modules are all in I can start adding depth and improving usability. Here's what's coming before 8.3.
Disc Priest
When? Patron beta begins 11th September.
The Disc Priest module also includes a DPS-focused optimization for fights where you're happy to drop a little healing for damage which are very common this tier.
Detailed Item Tooltips
When? Trinkets available to patrons from today. Expansion to all modules in the next two weeks.
Learn how much of Alchemist Stones power comes from the mana restore, or what the expected uptime on Azshara's Font of Power is. This will also expand to the upgrade Finder to show you what each suggested item is replacing.
Upgrade Finder by slot
When? 8.3.
Find out where you can upgrade a weak slot by selecting it specifically instead of looking through the boss / dungeon tables.
Localization
When? First set coming in 8.3.
QE Live Worldwide! If you have a special request then flick me a message. German and Chinese are coming up first and they should be in toward the end of the 8.2 patch cycle but I'm open to almost anything.

New to QE Live in 8.2: Essences
Essences aren't too complicated once you've collected a full set however that won't come quickly and in between you're stuck wondering what's better between a rank 2 X and a rank 3 Y. The Essences module in QE Live will make it easy by showing you what's best out of the Essences you have. It will go live with the patch next week.
New to QE Live in Eternal Palace: Upgrade Finder
The app currently does a great job of telling you which of your current items is best but not which items you should be looking for. Upgrade Finder gives you personalized drop lists from every Eternal Palace boss and every Mythic+ dungeon. Hit up Atal'Dazar because it has an 80% chance of giving you an upgrade, use your bonus rolls on Azshara because Upgrade Finder tells you her trinket is a 42% upgrade for you.
All results are based on whatever log you enter and you can select both raid and key difficulty. A summary tells you where to use your bonus rolls, your odds of getting an upgrade in your weekly chest and where to go to pick up your next big upgrade.
Upgrade Finder has been a huge project but it should be live with the release of the Eternal Palace in some capacity. If you've got anything you'd love to see included then flick me a message and I'll see if I can't include it.

8.2 is starting to draw very close (two weeks time is my guess)! This is going to be a big one. Two new zones, new raid, new dungeon, new gearing system.
Part 2 of the Essences break-down is now available to all patrons. This time we look at Vision of Perfection, PVP essence Conflict and Strife and starter essence Crucible of Flame. As part of their beta features perk, Diamond+ patrons will now find all 8.2 PTR Azerite and Trinket options in QE Live. You'll find them at the bottom of the Azerite and Trinkets lists. Play with the new gear and work out which belong on your best in slot list. As with everything on the PTR these might change heavily over the next few weeks so do check again when 8.2 goes live.
Patreon and Discord are now connected and Rolls Royce patrons can follow the instructions listed here ( https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/212052266-How-do-I-receive-my-Discord-role- ) to automatically join the QE discord. You're also welcome to DM me and I'll get you set up. The discord will expand to include Diamond and Gold patrons over the next week and will eventually go public. Rolls Royce patrons will keep their secret channels and log reviews. This should offer a better place to host suggestions, questions and general back and forth.

Resto Shaman is now available for beta testing for Diamond+ patrons. It will go live for the greater community in about two weeks time if nothing is amiss. You can add a Shaman to the app by hitting the + button under your characters and selecting "Restoration Shaman" from the box.
All features are available including Gear Compare and the new Trait Analysis. I've also snuck speed increases into the update for all users. Coming up next are a few articles to make sure we're prepped for 8.2. We'll hopefully have a release date any day now. Thanks again for all of the support.

Trait Analysis is a new feature that adds an extra level of depth to the results you're given. QE Live always provided accurate, easily accessible results but it lacked a way to dig deep and work out where the power in each trait was coming from. You'll get a full breakdown on every trait and it works with your logs too.
Trait Analysis is live now as a beta feature for all Diamond & Rolls Royce supporters and supports both raid and Mythic+ as well as all optimizations. It also supports the increased item level found in Azshara's Eternal Palace and you can analyze your traits up to 460ilvl. Resto Druid and Mistweaver are available right away with Holy Priest and Holy Paladin following at the end of the weekend. Let me know what you think.
Next on the to-do list is Resto Shaman which you'll have next week, and before 8.2 is live I'll have a full Essences module ready to go. Elsewhere on the site we have more Essence information coming as Blizzard continue to refine them and an article on optimal Mistweaver Thunder Focus Tea usage not far behind. 8.2 brings with it a new progression path within the Heart of Azeroth itself. If they tune and develop these right they could be the most exciting thing to launch so far in BFA. They definitely aren't quite there yet on the PTR but there's so much potential. This article covers the four most significant healer essences and part II next week will cover the other half which are mostly stat procs.

- Essences added to QE Live. Add a SimC string and let it pick both your majors and minors for you.
- Resto Shaman & Disc Priest added to QE Live. These will be open to Patrons a few weeks early and you can expect both by the end of the month.
- Upgrade Finder. I'm going to share more on this in the next few weeks but you'll be able to select any boss or dungeon in the game and know exactly how big an upgrade every item on the loot table is (including Azerite). You'll feel confident in using your bonus rolls and your raid leader will know which farm bosses to bring you in for. Think Residuum Roller but much much bigger. It'll be ready for Palace release.

Use Quick Compare to find out what your best items are. You'll usually wear your highest ilvl gear in non-azerite and trinket slots and while that's often the right decision, sockets and leech can make it much trickier. When Crucible releases you'll also be juggling special effect items in multiple slots. Quick Compare hopefully makes all of that trivial by flat out telling you which pieces are best. You can also import all of your gear at once with SimC import strings (this is coming to Trinkets and Azerite very soon too).
Diamond and Rolls Royce patrons will find it live now for Mistweaver Monk, Resto Druid and Holy Pally. Holy Priest will follow tomorrow. Thanks again for all of your support.

QE Live updates
The next feature to hit QE Live is an item compare that works on any slot so that you can work out whether it's worth dropping 15 item level on that ring for a socket, or for Leech. It also includes all Crucible items to make comparing the new gear easy. It'll be available to Patrons mid-next week.
I've also increased the speed of all patron tiers and Rolls Royce can now compare up to six items in each slot in Best in Bags.

Knowing your best Azerite combo is incredibly useful, but often times you might be interested in a little more detail. How far ahead is your best setup compared to the next best? How big an upgrade is it over what you're currently wearing? Hitting the Report button after a compare will give you a much more in depth breakdown featuring your top five Azerite combinations.
This is live now for all patrons, and will go live for all other players in two weeks. If you're a patron and don't have access to the feature then get in touch and I'll get you sorted.
