Humans are genetically programmed to fear snakes. I assume our ancestors had a rough time with snakes & that fear was beneficial toward survival.

Based upon what she said, Tanjiro's grandpa had this nigga Muzan so shook, the fear of him actually sowed itself into Muzan's DNA. So, when Tanjiro started quoting gramps & fighting like him, Muzan's DNA was actually getting scared, and it was effecting Daki.

This just took Daki by surprise, since if she knew about it she could just fight from a distance with her bitch ass scarf and Nezuko wouldn't be able to do much.
