School Council Poll Results

Hello everyone!  Work on Chapter 4 rolls ever onward - it's been quite a lot of work but the amount of content is massive considering it all takes place over the course of one school day.  

The graphical quality, as you'll have seen on Friday is also quite a bit higher than previous releases, which takes a little longer to achieve, but in my view is totally worth it.  This is further compounded by the challenge of keeping the file size down when dealing with images which are three times larger than before and much better quality, which necessitates cutting and splicing image parts to create composite pictures.  If I'm stuck for something to talk about, I'll write a piece about this technique sometime.

More on Chapter 4 soon, but today, I want to talk a little about the results of last week's council poll.

The current council want a little more of everything, it seems.  I sometimes have to read between the lines of these polls a little, but I take the fact that everything received a respectable amount of support to mean that the balance is fairly good currently.

The top three things:- home events, break events and lesson events have one thing in common: they point to a desire for more variety to the primary gameplay loop.  This is completely understandable, as the procedural school day is, even after over two years of development, still very much in its infancy.  I would like to eventually have a situation in which a player can play for hours before seeing the same event twice, and even then experience it in multiple different ways.

So in the coming releases, we'll see more home, break and lesson events in an attempt to move this process forward, as well as additional after-school activities.  The wrestling club as it stands is currently a placeholder, but will be developed further in time.  Gotta get ready for that inter-school tournament.

Relationship quests and outside school events did not do badly, and I suspect that the next time we ask this question, we may start to see which of these is most popular if the demand for school and home content is satisfied by then.
