What's New Roundup - April 2024

April has arrived, and with it comes a load of massive life changes. More of a focus on the personal this month, but still a couple of places you can catch me online as I rise from my coffin of (attempted) rest now the month comes to a close. I started streaming again properly and will have VoDs up on a dedicated YouTube channel very soon! Links throughout!!

The NoSleep Podcast

This month's NoSleep appearances are collated from episodes that were previously only available to subscribers, but are now free! I have a cameo in 'Temple of the Satyr and the Nymph' as a rude house mate, and do a full narration in 'Nicholas Semper's War', which features a wartime necromancer. Precisely my type of story.

You can also find my curated playlists of NoSleep episodes I appear in on Spotify, with one for freely available episodes and one for paid episodes listed below. Just to note, paid episodes are ones I've appeared in but past the free listening point, so are my contributions are only accessible for those that are NoSleep subscribers:

BAFTA Nominee Party

Putting the black into black tie as the resident awkward goth at the BAFTA Nominee Party. Truly a rad experience to be part of the night and celebrate the brilliance of games and their creators in a posh frock. I was part of a group that got a special hair and makeup styling session with professional pictures and this is the result - giving Meg from Hercules realness with the big ponytail hairdo!

Talking Terror with The Horror Game Awards Jury | Season 2 Episode 2

The Horror Game Awards gang collected up the coolest and spookiest creators from the jury and presenting team for a big chat about the show, as well as our thoughts on the genre at large, naturally. Love this lot, and always come away with brilliant indie recommendations which is a nice side effect. Long live horror!!

Personal Life

Man, it's been an intense month. I moved back home to Wolverhampton from Bath sooner than expected as my poor cat started having seizures, and she sadly passed away not long after. I posted about her and how special she was on Instagram and Twitter, which I share here not as a content push but just because they capture our relationship most candidly. I'm really, truly heartbroken, but keep trying to look at the logical take that she was nearly 20 and lived the best bloody life a little cat could have. I'm just insanely grateful to have literally grown up with her, especially as an only child. She'll always live on with me mentally, but physically we have SO many Toastie inspired ornaments and pictures - and I have a whole tattoo of her on my arm - so she's always around us in the house, too. Here are some more pics of me with my glorious beast, specifically because she'd always look SO done when I'd try and take a photo of us together and it never fails to make me laugh. My lil drama queen:

Peace and love, blood and guts,

Ash xxx
