Text narration
Added 2024-12-09 08:36:33 +0000 UTCI noticed people were using step names as a way to tell stories. That isn't really optimal and not how they were intended to be used. So I made this new feature - set a text on a step, and it will show when you go to it:

I expect to extend on this in the future, so it's mostly a placeholder for now, but at least it's much better than using step names.
This will be released with the December build.

Honestly, the ability to make speech bubbles would be my dream feature. I'm too lazy to make videos lol.

2024-12-18 03:35:40 +0000 UTCWe want to make all of what you said possible. The upcoming solution is more of a placeholder to encourage people to use it rather than step names to tell a story. Proper speech bubbles will be implemented in the future.

Looking closely at how it seems to be implemented in the preview here, I really wish that: a) text boxes were not tied to steps, and were instead timeline events. b) text boxes could be assigned to a character, so that they'll appear on screen near that character if possible. c) text style could be controlled (could be as simple as exposing CSS, though I don't know if there's a potential exploit there).

2024-12-13 08:16:10 +0000 UTCThis was a big thing to me back in Yiffalicious 1; having a little story/dialogue in the step names was a good indicator that the creator had an eye for detail and thoroughness, plus it could set the scene and give reasons for the character's expressions. Glad to see it get a formal addition. No more watching with steps visible!
