Vastly improved skinning

Ever since the first build of Yiffalicious, there has been a very tough-to-solve problem present. In the chest/belly area, artifacts can arise due to the complex nature of the skinning. This problem has been brought up several times in the forum and other places.

Basically, in order for a belly to be dynamic, vertices have to be "bound" to a belly bone. But this also means that these vertices are less affected by the spine, and in turn cause artifacts [for some poses].

Here are some examples of the artifacts:

It's a complex problem, because there's no way to get the belly to be dynamic [using existing techniques & tools], and at the same time avoid these artifacts.

This has been very frustrating for us, not only in terms of the inadequate result, but also during authoring, since continuously having to balance great deformation vs having a dynamic belly is really tough and time-consuming.

The last couple of days, we have investigated this issue quite thoroughly, and managed to come up with a new technique that vastly improves the look of the deformation. It allows us to have the best of both worlds - dynamic vertices with great deformation.

Here's a video showing our new technique:

This solution is entirely accelerated by the GPU, and thus has virtually no performance cost whatsoever. Furthermore, it makes the authoring process so much easier and less time consuming.

We will migrate to this new technique for flat chested characters as well (cat breasts).

The fox balls have been fixed to swing during thrust and will be part of 0.5.3.

Hate to press on about this at all, but does this goal include the fox' balls alongside it? I'd just hate to see that be forgotten about next release.

Good work!

Great to see improvements like this! keep it up

Yes, somewhat. Old method: https://gyazo.com/5a5d204bcb238edbf24b1f797b57015e New method: https://gyazo.com/a34c7fa91a816a935be02cf79a5d8325 Both methods still suffer from loss of volume, but at least it looks a lot smoother.

MAGNIFICENT!

Madgiver

Does it also improve deformation when bending the torso with an inflated belly?

I'm a strong believer of the saying "Where there's a will there's a way".

That's pretty impressive

Really nice work! It's encouraging as aPatreon supporter to see how you are able to overcome these tech limitations, rather than just shrugging your shoulders and leaving things as they are.

So, Example 1, http://puu.sh/orQQ2/1448a1e17c.png To recreate, create nodes on feet, then rotate her hips to make her lean forward, effectively sticking out her ass, then use the upper leaning contol point to bring her body to desired position, then have penetration, and the ass cheeks will do this, let me get a video of me recreating it.

Yeah hold on

Please do!

FurryVNE Team

Yes!! I love it!

Looks good, but you also run into the problem with inflated lower body, too. When you bend over the ass folds in, I can post screenshots of the effect in question

nice improvement! YL for most advanced porn game 2016
