Video Production Update January 5th 2026

Hey all. Hope everybody got a good break this Christmas holiday and maybe, dare I say it... got some gaming done...

The good news is we're back up and running here in a big way. My recording issues are fixed and I can get console footage once again, so to kick off the year I recorded a fresh playthrough of No More Heroes for the upcoming analysis video. I must have beaten this game now a dozen times in my life so it's surprising to still be noticing extra little quirks nearly 20 years after release. Of course we're gonna be talking about the epic broad strokes of the game, which I've been meaning to tackle in a dedicated video for years; an analysis that will serve as a great foundation for anymore No More Heroes content to come in the future.

There's still some more bits I could go back to get but even in this single playthrough, I dedicated a lot of time to the weird niche activities in the game. I think you'll enjoy both the in-depth commentary on the game's story and themes, as well as the look we'll take at the more mechanical minutia the narrative mingles with.

Other than that, now that recording is fixed, I'm hoping to get a few more Patreon goodies out too, but more than anything I would really like to get the No More Heroes Analysis done faster than the previous few videos so there can be a bit more momentum going on the channel again. I'm proud of the (2) videos made in 2025 but I don't want that to be the rhythm, and while I'm expecting the NMH video to be about an hour long, I've been thinking about this game for 2 decades, so hopefully it will all come together quicker than the latest stuff.

That means I might not get around to more Patreon content till the end of the month, since I want to keep my momentum on No More Heroes going. Either way though I'm hoping to hit a better balance this year and be able to keep the Patreon going as this space for super niche comfy stuff we can take a look at together.

I've also been getting around to some more recent games... that you might say are relevant to the channel. We'll see how we can fit that into things going forward this year too.
