There's been a few setbacks in the last month but nothing that will stop things in the immediate future.
Some of you might be aware that support for Windows 10 ended recently. I like my main computer to be secure and have the latest security updates, and besides I have an offline Windows XP for older PC games so, while I was in no rush, I wasn't opposed to switching to Windows 11 once updates for 10 ceased.
I was a pretty early adopter of Windows 10, I got it when word was Scalebound would be W10 only (oops), so it's been a full 10 years of Windows 10 for me, a change now is reasonable.
After switching over and yanking out by the root some of its more annoying features I was largely fine with things but, uh oh, for some reason my capture card no longer works.
10,000 Bullets (PS2)It's a real mystery to me because I've asked others with the same capture device and theirs still works on 11. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and capture program multiple times to no avail. My assumption is that W11 has to be the problem because the card was working only days before I ditched 10. Unfortunately, no, it is not compatible with Windows XP, so I can't test it on that.
Anyway, I'll have to keep trouble shooting or consider a new card. On the bright side, all the Ape Escape footage was captured before the capture card stopped working so that video should be able to proceed as normal. In addition, this doesn't affect my ability to record PC games, so I can still make more indie-PC game reviews or other such Patreon content for PC titles.
No More Heroes will be after Ape Escape, and that's where a fix will have to be found, since I was looking to do a re-record of the Wii version.
In the mean time, this month if you missed it, I did a first impressions video of the ridiculous PS2 bullet-time shooter 10,000 Bullets HERE (one of the last things recorded before the capture card stopped working), and a Patreon only review of indie retro horror throwbacker Heartworm HERE.
In addition I dropped in for a Halloween playthrough of Resident Evil Survivor, over on the Hellfirecomms channel with NTom64, which is a good time. It can be found HERE.
That's about it for now, I'll update you all on the status of the capture card when I can and proceed with Ape Escape until further notice. I have another Patreon review I wanna do soon for a PC game, so stay tuned for that as well.
Catch you back here soon and thanks for your patience!
