Video Production Update March 2nd 2025

Hello gamers. Not a huge update today; I just wanted to catch you up on where we're at with the current big project I've been working on for the last couple of months.

As most of you probably already know I'm toiling away on the Silent Hill 4 analysis, which won of the Legend Backers vote a few months ago.

The good news is that a lot has gotten done and we're on our way to this being the longest TGBS video ever made. While the previous record is held by the Silent Hill 3 video at 2 hours 12 minutes; that video's script clocked in at 27 pages while we're at 35 pages with the SH4 script (with more pages possible), pushing likely beyond the 3 hour mark.

I'll be honest this is not the game I expect to make my longest video about. It probably sounds like there's some deep passion at play here but the length has more to do with 1 - this being a very original odd game with a lot of facets, and 2 - the fact that each Silent Hill video just inevitably gets larger and larger as the lore and material we have to cross check every revelation with grows ever bigger.

A few days ago the scale of this project really hit me; not just the size of the project but the pressure to get all the dense analysis where I want it to be with as few oversights as possible - this being one of the most complex narratives in gaming by this 4th title. As a result, it's been a nice reprieve to take a short break to make some Patreon content for you all.

Access backers can watch a new Backlog with Brit on the other Blood+ action game for PS2 (the one not made by Suda51). Link HERE.

Insider backers can also watch a new video review on the 2nd Barrow Hill Horror Point and Click game. Link HERE.

And finally, including all of the above, Legend backers can watch a commentary on the Final Fantasy 7 Retrospective video that just turned a year old. Link HERE.

I'm never more thankful for my backers than when spending months on a single big project and the gap between channel uploads grows wider. This big intricate videos wouldn't be possible without you all so I hope you enjoy the extra Patreon content as my thanks.

I hope you can wait a little longer for this big video and for what comes after it.

I'll see you all back here soon!
