Yeah, I feel like an original RPG with FF7 Reb's combat system and party dynamics could only light the world on fire.

I'll be very disappointed if FF17 goes back to 16's lone-wolf hack-and-slash combat instead of embracing Remake's combat. The latter captures the ensemble spirit of Final Fantasy that 16 very strangely ignored.

2025-03-02 23:35:14 +0000 UTCI was surprised to learn you were a huge FF7 hound! I skipped most of the OG FF7 part 'cause even though I know a buncha stuff through osmosis, I'd like to play through it myself at some point, but I happily watched the spinoff segments. The L slide was a knee-slapper.

Since PS1 memory cards are so small I have about 3 of just FF7 saves now! I've made some amendments to my setup so maybe I could go through that at some point, we'll see. Glad you liked the commentary!

I had to wait till like June to watch the original video in full because I was playing OG FF7 and I LOST my save on PS1 when my memory card formatted. I was able to find a save online and used a save editor to continue where I left off on my modded PSP. Then I tried remake right after... couldn't get into it, but still went to the Rebirth Orchestra and enjoyed that. I'm happy that Square contacted you to do this, and you took it with pride! Also funny to hear them go "eh we want a 30/40 min vid" and you tripped and gave them an hour. Personally I would like to see a tech setup/guide in how you record footage. I use combination of component/av cables converters with my Elgato so Im curious what other ways others record footage on OG hardware. Thanks again for the commentary and extra info!
