Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. Because he was so depressed from all the shit he has been through, he couldn't taste the food and from his perspective Raphtalia always looked the same (like a kid). Which is also why he said last episode that all the people in the Kingdom are lolicons. Because they saw Raphtalia as a grown up Girl while Naofumi still saw her as the little kid. And yeah, Mayne is a huge big, when this Anime came out, in that year, she was the most hated Anime Character of all the Animes pretty much. I guess she is probably one of the most hated Anime Characters overall. And yeah, it's pretty crazy that Motoyasu is Lv 43 while Naofumi is only Lv 21. To think that Motoyasu almost lost to him is pretty wild, if it wasn't for Mayne. But this episode was really good, the whole turnaround for Naofumi and how they presented the scene with the music and all, just so good.
