Attack On Titan S3 Eps 17 FULL REACTION

This episode is epic! Really like your thoughts sharing before and after the reactions. I always watch through all of them, keep the good work! And look forward to your One Punch Man reactions too. AOT and OPM are the two best anime on my opinion.

Toldja Levi was a badass... you even said it yourself lol. Toldja Armin was finally gonna be a badass too, and yes on the last episode it showed Erwin get hit by a HUGE boulder and has a hole in him. Of course hes dead, the others got hit with smaller rocks/chunks than that and they died so Erwins got no chance. The Beast Titan doesnt feel bad hes pointing out that humans tried this very thing before and got slaughtered and had their memories NOT been erased, theyd remember this, hopefully have learned from their mistakes and not be trying it again right now. Well all the action spectacle is done, all the new episodes is just talking an a huge info dumps, it took 3 seasons but youre finally about to get your payoff, all your questions are about to finally be answered

of course its no ass pull power ups its a "realistic" show not a 100+ episode shonen fighting anime

THIS is how you write characters overcoming "impossible" odds. It's incredible how Isayama created a truly hopeless situation yet it's completely believable when the characters overcome it because they do so not through some last minute Deus ex machina, but by intelligently harnessing the established resources and through HUGE sacrifice. The whole Battle for Shiganshina is a masterclass of storytelling.

What I love about this show is that there's no ridiculous ass-pull power-ups to beat their opponents when all seems lost. They're all evenly matched and need to strategise to overcome their enemies. It's fantasy, but it's very well grounded and adheres to the rules in the world it's set in.

This is hands down one of the best episodes of any anime, period. I honestly didn't see Armin's death coming until he started lying to Eren, and even then, I was like "Please no, please no, please no!", practically begging the anime not to do it. If I hadn't been watching it with others (Shoutout to /r/Toonami and their live watch threads every week!), I honestly may have stopped watching the show. I actually had stopped watching the sub, aka subtitled version, IIRC, after Erwin and everyone else died in the episode before this one simply because it was too depressing to watch alone, and I only picked it up again a few weeks later when the dub was airing on Toonami, a weekly late-night American anime block that airs on TV. I had been watching both the sub (through Funimation) and and the dub (through Toonami) since the dub itself was about four weeks behind the sub so it was "old enough" to rewatch without getting bored. That's not to say I hated the show for killing off my #1 favorite character. It was simply too heart-wrenching to know that Armin... was dead. Honestly, this is one of the *really* strong points of this arc: It made me *feel* dread when the Beast Titan started throwing rocks and the recruits could barely hold it together (some even losing it completely). It made me *feel* heartbreak when Armin sacrificed himself. And it made me feel those feelings almost as if I was right there with them, and their feelings were palpable. We'd known many of these characters as far back as season one, and they were simply... gone. Dead. In short, this arc so far is perfect. (And so ends my little rant, but I just *had* to add my personal thoughts on this arc so far and my history with it.)

I just checked on Funimation. It isn't.

I think erwins death was extended into the recap. So if that was skipped might be how you missed it

Watching this episode when it aired hit me like a ton of bricks, even now it hurts so good
