Eren knows Annie's encase in crystal so not sure why you think Eren believed Armin's lie about Annie getting tortured. His look was most likely one of concern for Armin and sure in awe over how convincing Armin's acting was.

2019-11-15 01:46:20 +0000 UTC^Yeah, Armin was lying to them. He noticed Bertholdt's crush on Annie and took advantage of the fact that she's also their comrade. For whatever reason, Reiner and Bert were not a part of the mission to capture Annie in Stohess District, so they have no idea that she's trapped underground in her crystal, all they know is that her identity was revealed and then she disappeared. Since Armin is obviously no physical threat to pretty much anybody (I'm sorry Armin :'( ), he had to find some other way to stall them or hold the opening that was there so that someone else could come help. It distracted them from even noticing Erwin was coming. Also, a lil extra info (no spoilers) in regards to that halfway timecard fact cause I've heard you talk about Reiner's scream before whenever Eren and he were fighting by the wall. Colossal Titan has it's steam, Armored Titan has it's armor, and the Female Titan has it's scream. The summoning of titans is her ability. Annie was the one who summoned all the titans by Shiganshina whenever Bert kicked the initial hole in the wall. Awesome reaction, though! It's like I'm watching one of my fave shows with a friend haha.

One of my favorite moments of season 2, honestly, though it's a bit hard for me to describe why, and it's not because I'm avoiding spoiling.
