well Hamon wasn't necessarily made to hurt vampires, but it is effective against them, as they are "allergic" to that specific type of energy for some reason... Zepelli said that sense Hamon energy is life energy and all life is fueled by the sun, that Hamon therefor has the same effects on Vampires as sunlight by "over feeding them" too much of that life energy, or something like that...

Oh god I'd forgotten how horrible the CR subs can be at time, and they only get worse as the series goes on.
Not trying to be naggy, but please consider switching to the Some-Stuffs fansub or at the very least the non-censored subs for part 3 onward (The visuals for part 3 are also censored on CR.)

Hamon is made for combating Vampires. It's not that effective against normal people, the Vampiric powers are far superior

to be fair the Crunchyroll and other official subs are usually pretty obvious about what the original reference was, no one with working ears is fooled, sense the Japanese voices are clearly saying something different that's usually in Engl(r)ish due to that being the source of the thing being referenced(or at least the references that need changing for copyright compliance are usually the English ones).

Apparent from here on out is that many of the characters in JoJo are references to Araki's favorite musical artists. Unfortunately, that's lost in official Crunchyroll translation (especially part 3 and onward) due to copyright. Just so you know, if you see a character with a weird name that isn't easily recognizable, its likely a music reference that the translator changed. If you're not opposed to piracy, many would suggest seeking out the uncensored version of JoJo for later parts because it has more faithful translations. If not, that's cool too.

No Speedwagon said that Stantana was insanely smart, because he was able to figure out how to speak... English? German? whatever, in only a few minutes of just listening to them talk.

exactly. Santaviento is the censor name.
We will need to tell them the real names of certain characters. Since many names are censored in the subtitles.
The Pillar Man's name is actually: SANTANA

Here we GO! Also the translation you were using looked like his name something different. The pillar mans name is Santana, like the singer/band.
