This story goes for the principle of Chaos Theory, or maybe it's cause and effect. Every encounter, every action, leads to consequences down the road that are much bigger than the spark that initiates it. Such is the Sky Dragon. Most shows aren't capable of the long-range planning this one is. You might not see why something is important for many episodes if ever if you just watch the anime, even if it looks like unnecessary filler at first. There's also purpose in the worldbuilding for the same reason. At the same time they leave things out and they insufficiently explain things, leading to not having adequate context. Which is also why it seems people are giving spoilers but are actually just filling gaps left out of the anime that are needed to explain the plot. Going forward, that omitted content will become more important.

2023-03-08 07:26:01 +0000 UTCWhat Rimuru was talking about is that Shizu also came to this world as a young child, so technically she should have died within 5 years, but instead she lived and fought for at least half a century. That's why he hit upon the idea that maybe Ifirt possessing her is what made that possible. The subs worded it all a bit weird so it didn't really make sense. Also it was only mentioned once and they put not that much emphasis onto it, so it's easy to miss/forget, but Veldora is a True Dragon, True Dragons and the normal Dragons running/flying around the world are completely different beast. The following is a bit !!!Spoilery!!!! but no specifics, just some comparisons to show where Dragons and True Dragons stand in the power ranking of the world. >>>>>>>>>>>>SPOILER<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< There are only 4 Tue Dragons and they are basically 4 of the 10 most powerful beings in existence/that have ever existed in this world. They are actually spiritual beings and even if they die they just reincarnate (though they loose their current memories/personality) In contrast to that there are many Dragons with vastly different levels of power. While they are considered one of the most powerful races and a huge threat to normal humans/demi-humans/ monsters they are incomparable to True Dragons. Only the most powerful Dragons, the Dragon Lords, have power rivaling that of Demon Lords, while only the most powerful Demon Lords have even a chance of fighting a True Dragon in serious battle and living to tell the tale. The Sky Dragon is an Arch Dragon, the level below Dragon Lords, if a Arch Dragon lives for centuries and attains intelligence and wisdom comparable to humans it might become a Dragon Lord.

2023-02-27 01:50:12 +0000 UTCthe difference between the sky dragon from this episode and Veldora is that Veldora is a true dragon which there's only 4 of in the world like Veldora said when he met Rimuru. Dragons and true dragons are basically completely different existences from each other.
