Hotd! Season 1 episode 2!

Please do not imsult Jon Snow by comparing him to the bitch criston cole. U guys dont even know Daemon clearly, he loves his family and would never kill them.

Chantelle Miles

Why do u guys say everyones nuts. Otto is simply a snake pushing and manipulating his daughter and the king. He keeps Daemon and Viserys apart intentionally because he hates Daemon and Daemon hates him, he sees what Otto is doing and assumed Rhaenyra would be an easily controlled temporary heir until his daughter has a son.

Chantelle Miles

As far as the intro goes (from what I understand) the blood flow is supposed to be going from the current king then on to the next heir to the throne & their siblings, depending on where it was left at the end of the previous episode. It is really hard to follow tho, almost have to watch it in slow-mo. Basically we’re following the bloodline of the line of succession for the iron throne.

lmao what a great idea it was to name some of the Valyrians Velaryon, because there was no chance of that being confusing.

Dicky Anderson

I know it's confusing, so lemme make it easier for you. Valyria was a kingdom in Essos (different continent than Westeros, it's where Dany is before going to Westeros) where both Targaryens and VELARYONS (Corlys is a Velaryon) come from. So both of these houses ARE VALYRIANS. Valyria was ruled by multiple dragon riding families, and Targaryens were actually one of the lesser/weaker houses. Velaryons weren't dragon riders, but they were really good sea farers. One day, a Targaryen lady had a dream about an apocalypse, so Targaryens fled from Valyria to Dragonstone. After awhile, her dream did come true, and dozens of volcanoes in Valyria erupted and destroyed everything, making Targaryens and Velaryons the last families of Valyria. 100 years after that, Aegon I. decided to leave Dragonstone and conquer Westeros with 2 of his sister-wives (lol, Targaryens are known for A LOT of incest btw). 100 years after his conquest, is the plot of this show. And 200 years after the start of this show, GoT starts. Also, Viserys doesn't have greyscale, he has tetanus from getting cut all the time on the old, rusty throne lol

Anna J

I think that very first scene of them had something there haha The way Rhaenyra looked at her when she said "I'm quite content as a spectator"

Salton

Remember the room when stannis fucked the red women and made all his war plans, that was in dragonstone too. The same place myseria and daemon were talking (ignore my spelling)

Jamie Maclean

Rhanera and alicent are definitely not shipped hahahaha they are best friends!!

Jamie Maclean

The thing with house of dragon that I think we all forget because we are used to Game of Thrones but House of the Dragons are a family, Daemon is just a scorned younger brother and Rhaenyra is his niece and GOT also forgot a big rule in westeros universe, which is the Kinslayer is cursed, killing your blood family is frowned upon

Episode 3 when?

Stannis the Mannis

Accept for confusing Tetanus with Greyscale, you guys are picking up on all the little nuances and plot points. I love this show too! Now, after you finish Season 1……you will be waiting, like the rest of us schmucks …. For the next seasons. 😀🤣

Modmary

Can you guys watch the Inside the Episode videos HBO put on their youtube channel after each episode? I think that would be a really fun patreon perk and give you some insight into the details of the episodes.

Viserys doesn’t have grey scale, he has infections from cuts from the Iron Throne. Probably something close to a flesh eating bacteria from these cuts. This is symbolism for the effect ruling has on him, weighing heavy and essentially slowly killing him. There’s also a rumor that the Iron Throne rejects people who are not made to rule by cutting them.

Cam

ok now when is ep 3?!😂we don’t need you to spread it out, we want to binge with you guys (me especially bc i haven’t watched since it aired so i’m just watching along with y’all)

z dubbs

The King doesn't have grey scale - I never read the books, but grey scale looks very different from the wounds we see the king suffering from. We haven't seen Otto hit or abuse his daughter - I think you are reaching on this one. He is definitely pawing her off to fuel his own house desires and you could question if he is acting as a true and good hand to the king.

Gitte Hyldgaard

Yessssss!! I’m soooo hype for this season to watch with you two. And no bullshit. Every episode just gets better and better. True GOT lore. I said last episode. Did that dagger look familiar? Think about it. And also the crabfeeder, did his mask look familiar?? Love y’all

Kristy McDowell

Honestly the intro is too difficult to understand. Better use of your time to read character names on a guide during the intro instead of watching. Also Viserys definitely doesn’t have diabetes idk where you heard that from.

Stannis the Mannis

Ok, so here goes a couple of things: (no spoilers) 1- The intro is "different" because it is a family tree of the Targaryen bloodline. That's what all that blood represents, it flows from one generation to the next. Every episode, as characters die or new are born, the intro changes to show their status on the show; 2- Viserys doesn't have greyscale. It is never mentioned in GOT nor in HOTD, but Targaryens are immune to greyscale and a whole bunch of other diseases. It is unknown what condition he has, but it is speculated that it's diabetes, a disease that makes it hard for the body to properly heal wounds; 3- Another thing that GOT never mentioned but is very important is that the throne is made of actual SHARP swords. It is believed that kings who cut themselves on the throne are "unworthy" of it, or that the throne itself is rejecting them. It's kind of a bad omen to cut yourself on the throne. I hope you guys go through with a binge session next week. This show is just too good to watch it slowly!

Junior

Just want to say that OTHER than Dany, no Targaryen is fireproof. Some are arguably shown to have some level of fire resistance, but none are fireproof

Stannis the Mannis

The doom of Valyria happened 100 years BEFORE Aegon I was crowned. The first episode of HOTD happens 100 years AFTER Aegon I was crowned.
