Officially the last page of the Paint ED where we stopped. You know, it's funny as every perverted or suggestive scene could easily turn into a hentai as we technically are in control of the comic but again too easy and not what we wanted but the idea always seem to go at the back of my mind. Hope those who visit my page will be willing to support me and the gang to continue the comic and get it publish to the world.

Even though this page is kinda boring-ish as detailing the background was challenging but at the same time, I did like the colors I used for each panel as it does have a nice feel and pop to it.

Despite of everything that has happened with all the difficulties, it's still amazing that we manage to get to 40 pages and to get it published through other means even if it is just locally. We covered the prologue and chapter 1 and I think a bit of chapter 2 within the 40 pages.

So in this page, we introduce buzz's character. The idea is that he's talking really fast and trying to make it hard to understand him. Initially I just had no spaces between each words but wanted it to be hard to read. So using l33t to make it harder for readers to understand just to simulate how hard is it to understand what buzz is saying.

So haven't uploaded for a few days as was busy preparing for some test for students and other things. Oh, You know I forgot to mention, that during the the transition of Shing yi to Sueh Yi, IF you notice the font change. It was previously 'Comic sans' and we switch fonts to 'Manga temple". So this is it for tonight/today as the next page will have Azimah to join me and Sueh Yi. Azimah who I met her from my college days who took the same course as me, she helped me for the next several pages for the base colors. Base colors meaning that there's no shading and sorting and organizing color groups in layers. Example would color of skins would be one layer, shirts would be one layer. the background would be in one layer.

Painting this page, especially Svetlana and Kai character was fun as I feel the moment the color is done, it just brings the character to life. Oh, Almost forgot that during the coloring stage, Kai's mouth was an issue as I initially painted Kai's lower teeth black/dark red as I didn't know they were suppose to be teeth but someone pointed it out and then I asked Sueh Yi if it was suppose to be teeth not just the inner mouth. When dealing with this comic, one of the most important thing is probably the color. The vision of the paintball comic was to make it colorful and vibrant but what I learnt was that the background colors should be slightly muted compared to the characters as the readers will be focusing on the character's most of the time and that's where the main focus is at as well.

This one is a funny one as you will probably NEVER find anyone doing this in Paintball as in real life. When it comes down to paintball tournaments, people are generally selfish. You got shot, it's your fault, not my fault. You didn't do your job. BUT at the same time, the odds of you pushing or protecting a friend or team mate out of the way is pretty slim. BUT this is a manga or comic and it's also fantasy.

This too had a funny story in terms of making this page. My brother, Aammine initially had an issue with the second last panel as the ugly pig drawings were not ugly enough. It's a pretty funny situation, when someone wants the drawing to be ugly. I understand it because in the story, we are trying to show that Ant/Anton cannot really draw.
Aside from the ugly pig drawings, the crowd scene panel was pretty long to do especially the coloring bit.

This one was a funny one as you can't swear in the actual paintball field in tournaments. Like you can't call someone a motherfucker even if they are your opponent as I recall they would deduce points or take you out of the match and to a certain point, ban you from the tournaments. But for our purpose in the comic, we just wanted to add more intensity when they fight it out as if they were really fighting for their lives.

I was definitely impressed with Sueh Yi's outlining skills. She was very experienced as well. even though more experience than me and I honestly love the strokes for her outlines. They just look so nice and professional. My style is more rough.
Apart from the art for this page, the other important bit for this page was to show the lingo in paintball when pros play paintball.

Kinda behind on the uploading as I was kinda busy with the coming year. So back to uploading. I am going to upload 6 pages today. I honestly love Sueh Yi's art style especially how she does the characters. She's also very easy to work with. Any weakness she has, I can compensate. Example would be certain details such as the marker designs, clothes design, etc. etc. but all and all she's a pretty good outliner.

So at this point, I couldn't find an outliner but luckily I was still in contact with Shing yi. She was busy with her studies in the U.K. I asked her for help as I was desperate. So apart from paying her to do the outlines, I was going to help her with her studies until I could find a replacement outliner.

So this was the 'so called ' last page that I worked with Shing yi before she left for the U.K for further studies.
