In the past few days, I’ve been improving several things in the game, and one of the updates I’m most excited about is the new facial expression system. Now, both in animations and in still images within the game, the characters’ faces look much more convincing and natural. I also refined their overall appearance — some had proportions that looked a bit off, like heads that were too big. The eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, and textures have also been improved and now look much more realistic.
It’s been a while since I last posted here, and I wanted to talk a bit about that. Finding Buddies has become my full-time job, and after two years since the first chapter, some of that initial creative joy has faded a bit. I’ve been trying to focus on things that keep me motivated — like the remake — or on improving parts of my workflow. Sometimes I put too much pressure on myself, setting deadlines and goals that I end up struggling to meet. I feel this constant pressure to release new chapters within a certain timeframe, and that makes the process less lighthearted than it should be. Even when I’m not posting, I’m still working on the game every day — just more quietly. I want to change that. I want to go back to sharing what I’m working on, showing you the behind-the-scenes progress like I used to.
As many of you already know, I’m a solo developer. I do everything myself — writing, animation, voice acting, design, programming — and that takes time. I want to make sure the next chapter isn’t short, that it really moves the story forward, and that it reaches the level of quality the game and you all deserve.
The next chapter will be released later this year.
Thank you so much for continuing to support Finding Buddies. ❤️
