Dev diary - November 2024

Hey, I've been slowly working on the next update, and wanted to give you a quick rundown on where I'm at, and what you can expect.

• New character: Beryl: (completion: 95%)

The main focus for this update. I have mostly been working on her until now. She'll have as much content as the rest of the cast. Level 1 to 3, with scenes and items. I basically only need a few more tests and bug fixes.

• Gallery and achievements: (completion: 30%)

I wanted to improve the existing gallery, both on the visuals, and add detailed info on the characters, as well as allow players to unlock achievements with images and small stories. The technical side as been dealt with, and I did code the achievement system and the new visuals, but still need to add a bunch of achievements with their respective content. I'm not sure how many I'm going to add yet, but it'll be the main focus for the following week.

• Mobile play: (completion: 40%)

I wanted to add support for mobile play, and it was the most requested accessibility feature in the poll. Compared to the features above, this one is way faster, and shouldn't take that much time to finish.

• Other stuff

Miscellaneous features that I feel could get an improvement. I've developped a new difficulty mode for players that struggle with the current difficulty settings, called Zen mode, but this one will not reward any achievement. The game could use a few more items and equips as well to make runs less monotonous, and I'm going to spend the last days of dev on bug fixes.

I initially wanted to have the update ready for this week, but I need at least one more week before I am ready to publish it. I have a bit of an uneven work flow, sometimes working way too much on the project to be healthy, and sometimes taking breaks. Thank you for your patience !
