Breakout Progress - February

Slow progress, but progress!

Like with the earlier Bunsen post, February has thrown a fair bit of chaos into my schemes, with the first half or so of the month being taken up by tax work and other life challenges.

However, I face some 3D challenges too, as I've come to realize that a plugin I'm using, called quixel bridge, had experienced a drastic change that severely stunts my ability to progress on the environment; it can no longer download the assets I desire through the app, but instead forces me to go to a new website called FAB. While there is a far wider variety of assets available there, the loss of the ability to browse and download them within the Bridge app essentially means I will had to download and set up all those assets manually, and that's BEFORE I get to put them in the scene.

Its a big cause for a headache, which will mean Im spending more time setting up the environment before any real animation may begin.

Since Im in a modelling phase right now, Ive taken to also make some additions to Fatescanners model, as well as his car. Got a solid low poly model for a classic rubber rain hat, and will have to unwrap and get it a high detail sculpt for texturing. As for the car, I'm giving it a few touchups to the mesh, and ensuring it gets a good normal map bake so it can get some nice procedural textures for mud and other details. Im aiming to get these phases mostly complete towards the latter bit of March, after which I can hopefully get some animation going on the first few shots!
