Not gonna lie, when I played Acting Lessons, I thought Neil/Dad (Being a DIK) was Jonas (MC) of Acting Lessons. But, their backgrounds don't match up, so there goes that theory. lol

Ya if the story stays as well-told and fun as it has been through the first 4 episodes, I'm happy to continue backing Patreon and then also buy all the Episodes on Steam as well.

Somewhat similar here. I downloaded the patron client and have been playing through to create my web of savegames for various decision points so I can pick back up when Ep. 5 comes out.

Certainly the best I've played as well. And like you I discovered it on Steam and then came here. If you really like the game and haven't already, download the Patreon version here so you'll be ready for Episode 5 when it released here. Steam version will have to wait till the entire Season 2 is finished before it gets more content. Keep mind the saves are not compatible, so you will need to start a new playthrough, but if you are in it as much as I am, that probably isn't an issue LOL

A game like Being a Dik but it doesn't have mini games. Search for a creator named Braindrop I'm a patreon of his too. DrPinkCake's work (Being a DIK) is the best of any VN game so far.

The best VN game I have played and absolutely awesome job with this. I love all the characters, choices, music, humor (especially Derek lol) and all the hot scenes ;). I love Jade <3. The writing is also soooo good and I didn't expect to care so much of some characters in a game of this genre. I'm so happy I found this on Steam and I totally had to start supporting your development of the future updates. I'm super excited to play them Doc!

Totally agree with Alex this game is f*cking awesome, great character's, great stories, dialogue, drama, sex scenes, everything man! So glad I bought this from steam. It's been an emotional roller coaster, I never expected to get feels from a game like this but it's great. I'm increasing my contribution on here. It just sucks i'm reaching the end of ep.4 and it's gonna be ages to get another massive amount of content. Waiting and just playing an episode at a time every few weeks or months is gonna be stressful lol. Hey. I also wanted to put my 5 cents here. This game is really good. I see everybody is mentioning the girls and how pretty they are but nobody mentions my man Derek. In today's time and age he is fresh breath of air. I hope you will never fall to societies censorship bullshit. One thought that crossed my mind is why are you not outsourcing some of your work. I don't mean the creative stuff but more of QA and distribution. In general the boring bureaucratic shit that needs to be done but not necessary by you but maybe you already thought about it. Either way I want to complement the writing and graphics. I played many games and this on a whole new level. Quality is top notch. One thing I would like to see is a bit more drama and this gut wrenching feeling like for example you have in the series Scrubs. Where it is lightweight but there are some moments where just hit you like a sledge hammer. You did it at the end of episode 1,3 (also in the middle of some episodes) and I think this was a good choice. I would keep this trend. Long story short keep the good work up and in words of palpatine from star wars, "We will watch your career with great interest". P.s I never thought I would ever support anybody on patreon let alone that this would be the first one but boy I have never been so wrong in my life.

Episode 1 - 4 is season 1 which is available on steam. Episode 5 is part of season 2 but it'll be a while until it is released fully on steam.

guess i just noticed a big problem for me at least.....on the steam version, i followed the guide and maintained a chick status to get jill and made it to the shower with her. BUT, on the patreon version, did the same thing on on steam but the game SKIPS the shower scene. you NEED a chick affinity to do it with her. anyone else have this problem or just me or did i miss something?

New major ladies? Would make sense, for some of them their storylines are pretty much over depending on your choices.

They use different save files, so no. I know my first 3 playthroughs of Season 1 is on Steam, so they'll have to wait until the Steam Full Season 2 is released. Only way to enjoy Episode 5 and beyond as they are released is with the Patreon version.

Went ahead and grabbed the zip for 0.4.2 and had the weirdest issues doing it. Using firefox, Click the link, click download... click download anyway, etc etc... and blank white screen, no download. Check script blockers, etc... nothing blocked, everything listed as trusted/whitelisted. No errors. Can't say I've seen this in my 2 decades of IT experience. Either way, ended up having to use incognito mode and copying it to my google drive before it worked. I have no idea why that set of actions fixed the problem. Only mentioning it because when I read the "Hey, you should use incognito mode if the links don't work bit" my first reaction was "Huh? Why?" and I figured it was BS. It's not.

Episode 5 is the start of Season 2. If you've played till the end of Season 1 then you know Episode 4 kinda ends with a cliffhanger.

It will not be on Steam for a long time. Not until all of season 2 is done. This is only the first episode of the 2nd season, so waiting for a Steam release will be a while.

So Pink will be releasing both a full game download, and a patch download on launch day. Obviously the full game download will take a lot longer and you may have to wait in order to even start the download due to how many people are on the servers - So he is giving us the option to instead, have the latest version ready ahead of time, and simply add the new content to that version. Here's what that will look like: When you open up your Being A Dik folder on your desktop, you'll see the application to run the game, and several folders. The one called "Game", is the one we will be adding the patch to. Does that make sense? I'm not certain whether he means to replace the files there, or simply add to them, but I'm sure there'll be more details to come.

Great news! Not too much further to go it seems. I know there's a lot of work involved these projects and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has some serious respect for your ability and as a one man team, what you are doing. I don't ever complain about an update for something being larger or being delayed due content. The more the better. It's always nice to hear when you are getting more, at least from my own perspective. Too often things end up on the cutting room floor so to speak, that it's so nice to hear someone taking the time because they wanted to add more. Thank you!

I believe in a Q&A that was posted on this page, he said it might be 4 or 5 seasons ranging from 16 to 20 episodes. It was an estimate given. You can still find that Q&A if you scroll down far enough. But yes, it looks like Being A DIK will be longer than Acting Lessons. The good doctor mentioned he had a lot of story to tell and I for one am really looking forward to seeing it all unfold.
