Progress Update - August 2023

Hey everyone.

I thought I'd do a little update on how things are going for videos and idea for videos as I've had a bit of a productive week off work from my day job, which I mostly spent on recording voiceover, editing and playing a few other games.

Oh and thank you to the 3 new backs of my little page here. It all helps out!

THE NEXT VIDEO:

So first up is the work I've done towards my next proper video. Normally I keep my cards close to my chest when it comes to the subjects of my upcoming videos but for this one, it's not exactly a secret.

I've mentioned it a few times on Twitter (No I'm not calling it by it's new silly name lol) and I outright mentioned it at the end of my Mirror's Edge video... it's about the sequel, Mirror's Edge Catalyst.

This video has taken a while to come into play because we unfortunately had a pretty big family emergency arise just days before I uploaded my video on the first game...

Thankfully that's now passed, and in the time that followed it I ended up getting that copy of Crash Team Rumble... which I figured I may as well talk about. I kinda hate that Crash videos seem to automatically do better JUST because it's Crash Bandicoot... and that I'm certain the vast majority of the new subscribers I got from that video will care about Mirror's Edge... But it is what it is.

I know in my head I'm not going to sit around and talk about Crash Bandicoot over and over again just because it's popular. I've too many other things to play and discuss!

Anyway the Mirror's Edge Catalyst video is maybe just under a third edited, with all of the camera stuff yet to be filmed, as I tend to do that last... but yeah, gradually chipping away at it. Ideally I'd like it done within the next 2-3 weeks because it's all been sat in limbo for a while now thanks to dealing with the family emergency... but I'm not going to rush myself. It'll get finished either way!

Or should I say videos....?

This'll be where I return to being my usual sneaky self, not telling you exactly what the video is going to be about... but I will say I am quite far ahead of myself at the moment.

Right now, outside of Mirror's Edge Catalyst... I'm currently 2 full scripted videos ahead of myself.

I don't want to say what they are because I do quite often change my mind about projects (RIP my Pac-Man World videos idea) but I've almost gone out of my way to ensure these two videos will be shorter production cycles.

Making my videos run for 30-40 minutes is all well and good but they take a long time to make... so trying to find a balance of increasing my workflow without sacrificing my writing or editing style has seemed hard.

The easy solution was to just find some short games to play, and the scripts naturally ended up being quite short because of that!

I'll provide some more information about these once I finish the Mirror's Edge Catalyst video but for now... I'm quite happy with where my channel is potentially heading in the short term!
