The only somewhat related study that did show adverse effects was reduced sperm counts from men leaving a laptop on their lap, which increased the temperature down there - but did not increase the risk of cancer.

On girls getting followed though, i occasionally ride motorcycles (though not so much lately) and i have thick long hair that sticks out from under my helmet. The amount of times i got followed by random dudes in cars cannot be counted on one hand. And i mean me taking nonsensical turns and everything and them still being behind me. It's fun when they finally pull up next to me at the lights, i smile and wave, and they go "oh fuck it's a dude with a mustache". Maybe 1 in 5 can laugh about it or wave back but most look salty AF ๐คฃ

Is America really that bad with it or is it more like scary stories adults tell children like the boogey man, just for adults? Genuine question as America sounds like one of the worst places to be (including other factors) and yet Americans always seem to be so prideful of the country saying it is the best in the world. I don't get it.
