Hey criminal justice major here! In regard to the recording of the mom admitting to her crime, Maya is 100% correct that in 1 party consent states, you can record someone else over the phone/in person ect. Because you are also technically in the recording and are consenting to being recorded. In 2 party consent states like California, it does not matter that the mother admitted to killing her child on video, because she did not consent to being recorded that evidence is inadmissible in court and cannot be used in the trial against her NO MATTER WHAT. It really sucks especially in regard to cases like this, but it’s just one of those things that is in place to protect innocent people that unfortunately helps protect guilty people sometimes. Another piece of info for those interested, if you’re in a 1 party consent state and record someone in a 2 party consent state, the 2 party consent state takes precedence and that still is inadmissible in court.

men have romantic fantasies about meeting someone but im sure in a pretty different way than women. i mean for one, we still have the dynamics where we expect men to pursue women (such a terrible idea. men do not have the track record to have that responsibility.), so there is a natural anxiety about the idea of approaching a woman that a man doesnt know. i think what might be more common is *damsel in distress*, perhaps because of the lack of anxiety while being a hero, but also maybe the ability of having something to talk about and connect over -- as opposed to trying to hold a conversation that might have awkward pauses. thats obviously ignoring the cultural desire to be a hero or whatever. not saying i agree with it, but just kinda the toxic way things are right now. another fantasy is for a woman to be very forward, which is something i do agree with. finally, and kinda grossly, most of mens fantasies, even if romantic, involve crazy sex and at least the idea of it turning into something more serious... but then men experience "post-🥜-clarity" (sorry, i know thats gross. i really dont know what else to call it.) and think it means theyre not into the woman. not sure what the science is there. its very real and id say an indication that the man is immature.
