2024-03-20 05:16:33 +0000 UTCOn the one hand, I get that the royals are fun to gossip about, and also it's their whole job to just make public appearances, show up at ribbon-cutting ceremonies, etc. On the other hand, at a normal job, if you were going through some rough medical/mental/personal problems, *sometimes* you can privately ask your boss for a leave of absence or sabbatical from the job for a few months. But when a royal does this and doesn't go out to any photo ops for a few months, everyone loses their mind and theorizes that they're dead. Whatever it ends up being, the length of the Kate Middleton absence is admittedly unusual. All I'm saying is that people who are really into the British monarchy are the original parasocial viewers.
