Dev Log 0.25c: Rejiggling

Ah... A week to be proud of. The words just flowed out of me.

The largest new thing is a complete rewrite of Alex in the forest while pregnant. This was part of a push to finish up some more pregnant Alex stuff and this is her single largest scene, given you can visit it 4 times a run. You get to ask the questions about how your many baby mamas are handling their pregnancies and just generally check up on things. You know, actual dad things. There is also THE question... that is... how are you going to even manage being a dad?

Fun stuff.

There is even a new mail from Alex post birth.

All this is part of my current drive to make Alex's pregnancy level at least mostly complete. Currently it should be more or less continuous up to the end of Saturday dinner, except for the hot tub scene. So it's more than half way done as this is really the bulk of her scenes. Pregnancy rewrites are big because almost nothing is left untouched by them, unlike other corruption levels where there is only about 1/3 to 1/2 of their content refreshed.

Beyond that there is a new type of scene that I've been experimenting yet. Any adept code rippers might have noticed there is an unfinished dream scene where you speak to Alex's friends... And that's because there are some events that you as a player deserve to see, even if they aren't at the reunion. What I wrote isn't that... It's a Carla thing. In a car. I wrapped it into dreams although it will be an unlockable memory in future... AKA functionally a dream by another name.

I've also been pottering away at the early game rejiggering and it remains as monolithic as ever, but at least I've started to chip away at it. Just moving through the default loop and it's scenes trying to add in full renders when possible and making sure the character sprites are used. Hence today's picture where you actually get to see people at dinner, which should certainly help.

Beyond that for story time, I've got a couple of other things that I'm poking as well... Gonna try and start a wiki so Cabin feels like a real game! Besides that... well... I had some inspiration for something very silly... so I might poke that for the rest of the night, probably nothing will come of it, but who knows. All I can guarantee is sillyness.
