What a week.

So first of all I scrapped the little bits where you ask Lina for quests. They were just not a good use of time. The three days can feel like a lot, but really it's pretty slim, instead now Lina will just come and tell you what she wants, often just before you can get it. Nice and simple, and it's good to have the characters move around a bit.

After that there was a she can give you that she couldn't before... that is, getting Haily's top. You can try in a few ways, but the most fun is hypnosis... which... well... I've prepared a graph for you:

As you can see here on this chart of hypnosis susceptibility, characters range from being able to be hypnotised accidentally by every day life, to literally immune to hypnosis. So I don't want to spoil things for people... but this chart shows how things are more likely to go.

Then, after that... I got to work on something that's just very helpful to Lina's quests, and that is going to rooms that don't have events in them. The kitchen and your bedroom are done for now. So the code clue from last week is now in those scenes and you can visit while Sami is sleeping, maybe snap a few photos? I had some fun with it.

Also I did all of Lina's sprites, got to have some fun with them!

Yay, lots of images today!

Okay, now that all of that's done it's story time.

In all honesty, the start of this week was a slog. I sat down to write a scene and just didn't want to do it. Now this happens from time to time, sometimes you get a block and you just have to push through it. It's one of the things I like about the weekly schedule, I'm forced to push through blocks which otherwise I could sit on for months... and they really only get more blocky the longer you sit on them as emotions and dread build up (Or in this case, don't with the weekly schedule). But this wasn't that, it wasn't a block, it was just more like a creative drain.

With all the coding and such it had been a while since I'd written anything cute. I don't think I'd written anything bad, but it just wasn't the inspirational stuff I like to go through. But when there is a problem... you've got to fix it. I would like to say that I am now a proper wanker! I went to a coffee shop with my laptop and just spent some time outside of my house, did a little writing, sipped on a hot chocolate. Just that little change in environment is something I haven't really experienced since I went full time.

Now I'm under no allusions, I'm living the good life, haven't had to even see a stranger outside of deliver folk in months. But... apparently that might not be the most healthy thing. Either that or it was just that time of the month.

But I think I've written some good stuff now, I'm back in that positive feedback loop where the scenes I write inspire myself.

The other good news from all of this is about Fuckmore! Really, that was something I HAD been sitting on that for months. I'd written myself into a corner where I just didn't know how to get from where I was to the ending I wanted. And I think that was also something that fed into the frustrating start of the week for Cabin. I knew I didn't have to work on it, but it was still hanging over me. As I said though, good news. The script for it is done, just got a few renders to put together for it and I can ship it. If all goes well that happens tomorrow. Honestly, I'm not sure it has that fantastic pizaz the first one did, but I know you'll get a chuckle out of it regardless. I might end up also taking Saturday away from cabin for it but you don't mind (a reliable source told me so).

I've got more to say about other little things I've done for fun, but those will have to be stories for another time as I've rambled on long enough.
