Public Release Version 0.15d and Dev Log 0.16d: Sex and Sensibility

I have discovered the cause of my head fuzziness!

It was covid.

By the power of vaccinations and being generally healthy I'm already basically over it. But it was fun to go through two solid days of my brain attempting to boil itself. 9/10, could definitely see how that might kill someone. Perhaps strangely though immense physical pain is a lot more productive than the head fuzzies... Not that either of them are great but I take what I can get in these interesting times.

So, there was a very necessary addition to Haily's sprites from last week. She has a particular condition you see, and sometimes it's visible. Besides that I kind of jumped into writing both the start and end of her Corruption 3. It all starts when you meet her in the forest... You can now comment on somethings.

The plan is that as you follow her around all weekend and she keeps giving you the slip and you eventually get to do a little detective work... might be blowing the load a little early because if you visited her in the forest twice you can skip that for now and at the BBQ and see how the story ends. That how the story ends is why I pushed back the release by a day or so, I got a little inspired and when the anvil is hot that is the time to strike! Or something... that sounds like mediocre metallurgy...

Besides that one of the micro scenes about Haily giving you the slip got included but just one is obviously some pretty poor coverage. In this case it's when she's talking with Carla on Sunday morning. All in all I do think there is a little more work to make everything completely integrated but that's just how it be sometimes. Content first, proper architecture later.

But yeah, that's it for this week. now it's Story time. and improper capitalisation time! What am I a writer?

So... I dunno if I've talked about this before, that's not my job to keep track of, I consider that your job to keep track of. Anyway... You might have noticed that I don't take a lot of holidays. In fact, I basically don't take ANY holidays. Sometimes I get sick, that's like a holdiay? Sometimes life intrudes and I get mandatory time away from work... But really in those times I would rather be at work.

So Nunu, how do you handle the mental strain of constant development with (generally) one day off a week and almost no work life separation? First of all we've been over that I love writing all this, that certainly helps. But really? What am I even going to do with time off? Travel? I've been around the world once or twice... It's fine... Doesn't really do much for me. Hang out with friends? It's not as though I don't do that anyway.

No, my entire life, when I get time off I've basically just spent it playing video games, or making little side projects. It will get right into that stuff and it will consume me and then when I'm done I put it down and don't touch it again for a few months if at all. Really though, when I'm done, what am I left with? I don't consider having fun a waste of time, after all I am a hedonist, fun is the point of life. But so often I put a game down and am just feeling unsatisfied. That may be more a comment on my taste in games but lets just ignore that for now.

No, what I find the most fulfilling is to have a really good changelog. Sitting down and going, damn, I was productive this week... it's almost euphoric. That's one of the reasons why my logs tend to have a negative opinion of myself, seeking to have that better changelog (Although I know I have talked about that before). Taking time away from all that, yeah I'll have fun but it's not fulfilling. Also I start to forget things if I'm not thinking about them.

I am a momentum based developer, the better last week was the harder I work the next week. The worse last week was? Let's just say that's why I call every week a clean slate.

So now to fly in the face of everything I just said, I have decided that it's time for my yearly week off. Christmas is coming up and I have to waste money on friends and family. Booo! Really though I doubt I'll do nothing, but it will be nice to schedule time for getting all the Christmas stuff in order so I don't have to think about it. Also I may just sleep off the tail end of Covid. So there wont be a weekly build next week and in all likely hood all the next version will be spread out over 5 weeks again like when I had my last health issue.

- Clarified which option in Lina peeks on Sami is prompted by Carla's Advice
- Improved responsiveness to do with the new scenes
- Complete redo of Alex's sprites

- Redesigned the system for Saturday dinner so that it can handle events
- Alex Forest scene non sex scenes rebuilt

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug with Alex's goodbye missing a variable
- Removed the blocker from development so you can actually help Lin braid hair
- Fixed a bug that would write a call to the wrong image into the progress log
- Lots of minor Guide fixes
- Listening device option in Sami touching herself now doesn't falsely trigger
- Alex's C5 now unlocks properly
- Several sprite fixes to Sami's Dinner Lake scene
- Alex's goodbye no longer overrides the normal run end scene
- Fixed a crash issue with viewing the about page
- Mail Icon no longer clips into the title when it has a two line name

Did you know that if you use a Renpy library call inside a python loop, Renpy will exit your python loop? Just thought you'd like to know that.
