COMPLETE RT - UPDATE 1.6 RELEASED

Release notes:

CompleteRT 1.6 has been released with a handful of improvements. This update focused on the feedback we received from our users to meet their demands and go beyond their expectations. This version of CompleteRT includes noticeable optimizations, quality improvements, and compatibility upgrades.

Now you can use the new advanced upscaler to go down to 33% while having better quality compared to higher resolution scales from the previous versions. On the other hand, ReSTIR-GI got yet another upgrade, for the best-ever quality. Should we also mention the OpenGL compatibility is back?

1- OpenGL Compatibility:

CompleteRT 1.6 is now fully compatible with OpenGL, with the same functionality and feature set as DirectX. Performance is also on par with other APIs.

2- New Spatiotemporal Super Resolution:

Now you can have the quality and the performance you want simultaneously, thanks to the new upscaler we developed for CompleteRT 1.6. There are a handful of new improvements coming with it.

Using the industry-level upscaling techniques, CompleteRT can now dynamically adjust the resolution within the runtime User Interface with floating point resolution scales, from 33% to 100%. Also, it automatically adjusts the resolution to match the internal in-game resolution while using upscalers like TSR, FSR, XeSS, or DLSS; no need to manually adjust it to match. It's also fully compatible with dynamic resolution scalers, so feel free to use them while playing with CompleteRT. This feature helps with flickering while using temporal upscalers while also improving performance.

Most importantly, the quality is noticeably better, with almost no loss of detail to some point, and with extreme scaling values, only a little difference.

3- ReSTIR-GI:

There is a long history regarding ReSTIR-GI in CompleteRT, aka. Reservoir SpatioTemporal Importance Resampling. Version 1.2 introduced the initial implementation. Version 1.3 improved it, Version 1.4 optimized it, and Version 1.5 made it more accurate. Now CompleteRT 1.6 improves the performance and quality once again for a top-notch experience. Results are more noticeable, settings are now as easy as enabling a toggle, and the accuracy is almost ground truth.

4- Specular reflections:

While CompleteRT 1.5 was a huge upgrade for reflections, there was, as always, room for improvement. CompleteRT 1.6 fixes the flickering when using low roughness values, noticeably increases precision and boosts performance.

5- UI Improvements and refined presets:

CompleteRT 1.6 improves readability and intuitiveness. Effect toggles and show/hide the relevant settings. ReSTIR-GI is now a simple toggle (instead of sample count for GI). And everything is better organized.

Quality presets are now more flexible, and more gradual, while also giving better quality thanks to the new upscaler.

6- Bug fixes and performance improvements:

As a program, CompleteRT is also a victim of bugs sometimes. And we are always taking care of them as much as we can. On the other hand, I always try my best to make sure you play your favorite games smoothly while enjoying CompleteRT. So optimizations are a consistent part of every update.
