Another trivial tidbit is that the student at the dance who was with Mary and then soon after opens the gym floor to reveal the pool is Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer of The Little Rascals and Our Gang fame. I'm 61, have seen this movie since the 70s and never knew that until now.

2026-01-13 06:48:01 +0000 UTCFun trivial tidbit tying together two reactions: I first noticed this in the scene where Clarence and George are in 'Nick's' bar and later I went back to look at the scene where George is in Martini's bar and Nick asks him if he's all right. There is a bottle of Vat 69 Scotch Whisky on the shelf behind Nick in both scenes (it is easier to notice in the earlier scene, but I first noticed it when the bottle was sideways in the scene with Clarence). Vat 69 was Louis Nixon's favorite drink in Band of Brothers and in that miniseries Lou appears to never drink any other spirits until 1945 when he can't find/scrounge his fave anymore.

2025-12-20 02:09:12 +0000 UTCThe Muppet characters Bert and Ernie were indeed fashioned after these two characters. The Muppet characters even had the same professions: a cop and a cab driver.

2025-12-13 14:17:11 +0000 UTC"Well she's an old maid now! She's pushing 30 and wears glasses now for some reason!!" Fun fact: Jimmy Stewart was actually a bomber pilot in WWII. He was almost under weight AND too old (at 33) when the war broke out, but he was already an experienced civilian commercial pilot and college graduate which helped his enlistment. Good luck with those rodents and happy holidays Nat!

2025-12-12 22:35:53 +0000 UTCFor a christmas movie we have, child abuse, suicidal ideation, and the perils of capitalism. Also punching a cop and getting shot at by one. I do enjoy the anti-greed message that is prevalent throughout this film, it's very pro working class and very skeptical of business interests. Also be prepared for some nerds to be very mad that you watch the colorized version. I'm sure they will have a lot to say about that, as most film purists hate it.

2025-12-12 22:12:45 +0000 UTCNick names his bar after himself, then gets offended that people use his name. Great reaction, Nat, thanx.
