April 2024 update from Ani Boxer

Here is an update from our Chairman, Ani Boxer.

Hi LondonFurs Patreon users! This is Ani Boxer back again with a special update!

First of all, it's been a great start to 2024 for us, with the regular meets hosting no less than 300 unique attendees, which is actually pretty insane considering we had one of our meets during the same weekend as Scotiacon... which I heard went brilliantly, actually, as well.

We've also started a brand new community initiative called Artist Takeovers, the first of which happened on the same weekend -- February 3rd -- launched by the incredible Squiddy, where we used the event space to help promote both new and established artists within the fandom. This includes giving out custom-made event posters, offering Dealer's Den space in our usual staff position, and the production of banners as well as the use of venue TVs.

It's a really awesome initiative that I'm super proud of, as it helps give us a new platform to promote their incredible work, as well as giving the LondonFurs meet community a chance to celebrate artists, and of course, get free stuff!

Second update is that we will shortly be announcing both the on-sale date and theme for this year's summer party, with boat party tickets going on sale at the meet this weekend, and the theme being properly revealed then. It's actually a very, very, very cool theme this year, and I'm super excited for it.

As usual, as thanks, we want to give all you Patreon users a chance to buy a single boat party ticket in advance of the on-sale. If you'd like to do this, please reply to this post before Friday noon, confirming that you want it, otherwise we'll assume that you don't.

Lastly, thank you all for your donations to the community, and we'll use this money to launch awesome initiatives like the Artist Takeovers, or to improve the experience for everyone at the meets, including some new shelving units for fursuits to -- hopefully -- expand the space available.
