where we've been (and what's coming up)

if you follow us on instagram, you know that at the start of october, we unexpectedly lost our 15 year old cat, sashimi. a vet visit we thought was no big deal quickly turned into something much more serious. after a few days in the hospital and then at home, things kept getting worse, and we lost her.

what you don’t know is that right after sashimi died, our 9-year-old cat, pants, also started showing signs of being sick. at first, it didn’t seem too worrying, but a couple of weeks later, things escalated.

now it’s been two and a half weeks of vet visits every other day, trying different medications, and another hospital stay… and they still aren't sure what’s wrong with her. thankfully, it’s completely unrelated to what happened with sashimi—it's just a really, really unfortunate coincidence.

it’s been really difficult and very stressful. pants will have a good day, then a bad day, then a good day, then a bad day again. we’re hoping that the tests she did at the hospital will give us some answers—we’re still waiting on results—but for now, we just don’t know.

as our biggest supporters, we wanted to keep y’all in the loop. and we just want to say thank you - because we’ve been really enjoying making these videos for patreon.

it’s been a nice distraction.

so while our plans have changed a bit, we still have a lot of really great stuff coming up for y’all. and we really appreciate your support during this time.

truly, it’s never been needed more. we’ve spent over €5,000 on both cats... so far. and we haven’t had a consistent schedule on youtube, so it’s been stressful on the ol’ pocketbook as well.

so thank you. really. thank you.

a fun new video is coming on sunday or monday, and we've been playing around with a new camera and hoping to have some shots from it posted later in the week too... so yeah, lots coming soon!

❤️,

A belated comment, but we've been away... in the Netherlands as it turns out, and missed this update. Thank you for sharing, and of course we're so sorry for your loss. Sashimi made the long journey from the US with you and it seems she never missed a beat, and certainly appreciated all the care you took for her including an immediate stay in a hotel in Rotterdam to GET OUTTA that cage. Look forward to another video whenever you get back in the groove.

thank you <3

buncharted

so true - you make a commitment to them when you adopt them

buncharted

I hope you find a curable origin of the symptoms. One loss is more the enough... Take your time for each other and yourself. I'm not going anywhere, even if you do not post for a while.

“in good and in bad times” some people don't get it but also pet parents never stop doing whatever is needed for their furry babies.

Oh, how sad to hear. Always sad to lose something that has been part of the family for so long. I have also experienced it with two cats that I lost within two months. Sometimes it seems like all the bad things always happen at the same time. Let's hope Pants gets through this okay. Take care!💖💪🐱

thank you. it is truly heartbreaking to lose your best cat friend. i’m sorry for your loss as well ❤️

I really hope Pants will pull through. Keeping my fingers crossed. I am so sorry for your loss of Sashimi. We lost our 14 year old best cat friend in May of this year, so I have a bit of an idea how heartbroken you might feel.
