April Animation - Final look!
Added 2021-04-27 03:06:03 +0000 UTCThe background is a bit simplistic and meh, but I figure I can spend lots of time on the background or I can put that time into the animation, but I can't really do both, so I hope you'll agree I focused on the right area once you see it. Not that the animation is particularly stellar mind you, it is a one-day affair, but hopefully it at least looks alright given the time investment!
But we won't know that for sure for a few days- I've started the final render and doing some quick math here it looks like it'll be two or so days before it's finished.
In the meantime, here's the first frame of animation that rendered out with the final look and everything! I hope it has you excited. :D

Although i think i remember there was some trick that used the character as some sort of brush to simulate water (can't remember correctly, i think one on ian hubert tutorials touched it (the ducks one)). I think this will be first animation of yours i will see, must have missed other ones. Really looking forward to it. I wonder of you turned on dynamic hair to torment your pc :D. Can't wait to see it!

2021-04-27 04:47:24 +0000 UTCIt's the subtle things that would really make a difference. The house could use more detail, it's currently just a box with a window cut out, hah. The fence posts could use more variation, they're all pretty similar looking. The pool could use some water droplets near the waterline, but I couldn't quite work out a quick and easy way to do that that didn't involve texture painting so I gave up on it due to being out of time. Some extra details in general wouldn't hurt- I was thinking of adding in one of those metal ladders you see in public pools, and also some of those lounging chairs you see in this sort of place... but again, just out of time. As is often the case with such thing, I could make it look about 50% better if I wanted to put in 200% more time, but I don't so we're all stuck with this version. :P But I did try to at least get it to an alright place! It's good enough to fap to, hah.

I see a house, fence, trees in the distance, and a freaking -pool with water physics and reflections-, I'm not quite convinced that's simplistic :P It's all good and well to have high expectations for yourself, but don't get lost in them, if that makes sense <3 Can't wait to see how this one turns out, looking like a real treat!

2021-04-27 03:14:01 +0000 UTCRendering is just a slow job, sadly. 3D art definitely requires some patience! Thanks! I almost gave up on the pool a few times, but I eventually got it looking alright enough to keep it. Which is good because I had no backup plan for the setting at all. x3
