Insane fun pikes peak run! Livestream tomorrow 4pm pst

Omg that was the most fun I’ve ever had driving. I was faster than mad Mike by 1-2 seconds for most of the run. Until I wasn’t. Crazy twist of events! The engine is fine. It was the turbo that blew. Overspooling it 40k rpm for several seconds straight did her in. I thought I flattened apex seal springs. I’ll upload the head cam footage tonight. Thank god I memorized the course. I couldn’t see the second half of it haha

Link for livestream data!! Even with only 1/3 of the race

This will only be live when the car is on. But you can tune in and watch it warm up real time! Buggy potentially but sick possibility. Winds canceled the 2/3 if the race. Super super gutted but at least I get to be here and have ran before to the peak. Feel bad for the rookies. I am 55th in line total currently 20 ish ran so far

Test assembling my first piston engine!

This is so weird and complicated. But I love it. Definitely makes me appreciate rotary more and see how we can refine them. But I built that entire head from scratch using used parts. Finally understand what vr1 means when saying flat tappets haha. But I also got to build the slide throttles and see deep inside the head where the spark plug goes. The brand new pistons will hit the valves so you have to do a valve drop test and then machine away 30 thousands. Has to be insanely high compressio...

Both rotary and cosworth. The rotary parts seem more useful but both will be fun to work with. But I have so much to share beyond just the scans in the livestream. Fire way to start the week! 12 rotor dyno getting hot!

We are finally making progress on the power! But it turned into fire. This is after the fire was out but we made 1300tq and 1500hp before pulling out. Bad internet here but I’ll try to capture the moment. If the engine holds together it should make 2500 at this point

Indycar transmission reassembly time!

The guys are at Ed pink setting up the 12 rotor for the final dyno session hopefully. So I have a clean air shop to reassemble the Indycar transmission. I can tell it’ll come back down soon for maintenance once it fires up but it’s wild to see how none of these pieces resemble a normal car. To me anyways haha.

MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT. I DID SOMETHING CRAZY

So I just blew my savings on a rare opportunity. I think you guys will appreciate what it means for the future of the channel. But I also might be in over my head. I was given the opportunity to buy all of Cosworth USAs old stock. Every race engine from 1996-1999 and all of the parts and molds to make more parts. More than 20 blocks and enough parts to make another 20. I’m speechless. Livestream Friday to go over the absolute once in a lifetime opportunity.

Drag chassis modeled and tested!!

So so so powerful. I worked hard over the weekend to learn tubing modeling. This is the current dragster chassis with 12 Rotor base power applied. So it’s all estimating 1000ft lbs of torque from the engine spinning. But that is multiplied by the diff and turns into 4x that. All of this tube is hollow and is modeled almost exactly proper. But you can see the 1000 lbs of the engine sitting down on the tube. The rear diff fighting the wheels picks up the chassis 0.85 inches!!! If the 12 roto...

Huge Livestream!! tomorrow 4 pst

Got so much to share with you guys!! But the cfd company is flying in tonight and going to help scan the interior of the 4 rotor and help take it to the next level with the rear radiators and ducting plans. But even cooler is I scanned the 12 rotor and the dragster and it might just work. With some chassis modification haha. But even the 1 rotor stuff is going to be wild. Just because we can doesn’t mean we should haha. This was so fun to play with. But absolutely useless otherwise haha. I wanted to get jack stands to tilt the car but the engine weighed it down enough to do exactly what you see. We rolled it around. It is insane.
