2024-05-29 18:50:49 +0000 UTCThe shirt colors for the crew of the Enterprise is a call-back to the crews aboard nuclear aircraft carriers. Different crew members with different responsibilities have different colored shirts on. You can find the codes online but weapons handlers are one color, fuel guys have a different, plane handlers different, as well. Aboard aircraft carriers, even back to WWII, distinguished between crew who flew and handled the planes and everything that goes with that were referred to as the brown shoe Navy, whereas the crew that ran the ship were called the black shoe Navy.
