omg i saw this too late!! rent is my fav musical! i will say the movie doesn’t do the stage show justice but it’s alright. tick tick boom is such a great movie / musical about the creator of rent and is my favorite movie of all time

Many of the film’s actors played these roles when it opened on off-Broadway & were friends with Johnathan before he died. But the musical is also based on the Opera La Boheme. - What do you think of classic retellings like this? - If you were to write a musical about your life/ friend group, what older film or classic would you base it on? & What musical style?
