Agree. MOC finally gave us something with Dean that wasn't settled over a couple scenes in a couple episodes, or just brushed aside or only hinted at.

That's right. I'd forgotten. Thanks.

Yes, that was something that became frustrating sometimes. Unsuccessful retcons are the bane of long running tv shows, as are simple plot holes and inconsistencies. Or great ideas that are just not followed through (Demon Dean was wasted, although the MoC plot which came from it was awesome)

I am in the same boat. I sometimes cringe watch episodes season 12 and later, but I always end up fast forwarding through most of it/turning it off.

Abaddon wasn't a Prince of Hell. She was a Knight of Hell, like Caine (& Dean) was. Azazel, Remiel, Dagon and Asmodeus are the Princes of Hell.

I felt this was a better episode than some others this season, because it was about what I felt was the main story and where we needed to be. But, I totally agree with you both about the things you didn't like. Too often it seems like the show goes the easy route with it's plot points and story elements. The people who are the showrunners are a mix, but have overall been with the show for many years and maybe have gotten a bit lazy and careless. I think they don't think most viewers really care about the details, or about retcons, lack of continuity, etc.
Daigon is one of the princes of Hell. Like Abadon. And that other guy - Remiel? Whatever vibe they were trying to have with her wasn't working very well.

No accounting for taste! I loved SPN, but for me, it was a matter of endurance to get through Seasons 7 and 12. They tried something new in season 13 but it just didn’t appeal to me.
Agree that season 11 was a banger. I’ll have to go back and watch their reaction to Baby and 11x20

I too like all of SPN as a whole, but I do find some seasons, not awful like Toad feels, but a bit boring (i.e: S7). Like even during that time, S11 was such a banger, that I KNEW S12 wouldn't be able to be at the same level, so I went in expecting a more cool down season, and we do have some nice moments, a couple of new fan favorites introduced, but this season had more cold showers that I expected, like I said there were many good moments, but having this feeling of disappointment to a season that I already expected to be on the down side doesn't bode well.

Wow, didn’t realise you were still doing Supernatural! The dreaded Season 12 - god, it was awful. In fact, I wasn’t a fan of anything after season 11, but it did still have its moments.
